Administrator's Pocket Guide Volume 1: What Makes a Perfect Staff Team?
Hello Minecrafters and more preferably, server owners, feedback will be appreciated.
INTRODUCTION
My name is Nathan, and I (might) create the typical Minecraft server owner-friendly handbook, Administrator's Pocket Guide. Today, I'll talk about what you should look for when choosing staff members. Alternatively, if you so happen to not posess ownership on a server, this guide could help you transform into the perfect, ideal staff member.
WHY TRUST NATHAN?
I've been an owner of 8 different variations of PvP servers, a moderator on a build server, part of a whitelist application team on a Roleplay server. I've been around the community since Minecraft Beta 1.2 and typically know how every admin's mindset is organized. Adding on, I enroll in Business courses in my high school, which some studies pertained to attaining a high position in your job and or career shows links in similarites in staff members on Minecraft.
Now that you know a little of what I'm capable of, let me help you find your staff members. BUT BEFORE YOU BEGIN READING, please note that not all of the traits below are needed to be nailed into the staff member's brain, but at least 75% of them.
THE TRAITS OF THE IDEAL STAFF MEMBER
These are nice little brownie points to grant your user(s) if they look like a good choice to become a staff member
That's about it! If you have any other admin-related questions, if I should continue APG, or any change(s) you wish for me to do or add into this chapter of APG, please comment below along with honest comments and critism. Thanks!

- HELPFUL - This user isn't staff yet, although, he/she seems to be helping players with practical problems. Look for players like this and keep close watch over them. Maybe interview players to see their outlook on this player is qualified to be a staff member. Maybe this player is already a staff member, and he/she offers to assist you in any way possible without you even having to ask.
- ACTIVE - The staff member/player is a very active player, clocking up to be the most active player on the server; even. They are usually on most of the day, and on weekdays.
- MATURE - Yes, sexual jokes may be exchanged once in a while, but there is a borderline when it comes to making a racist joke or talking about sex constantly, trolling around is also a HUGE no-no.
- AUTONOMOUS - This staff member doesn't need a lot of hand-holding. In a nutshell, they don't need a lot of explaining or help from other staff members to keep your server from becoming a mess with anarchy under every shadow. They may not, but they seem to hold experience of being said position of staff.
- STRICT WHEN NEEDED - Your staff members may be friendly, but there's always a time and a place where your staff member(s) need to realize that sugar-coating a player won't do. If scolding is the most efficient option, hopefully your staff member(s) aren't afraid to do so.
- USER-FRIENDLY - This staff member is known for being very friendly, helpful, and all those good traits the basket of goodies have to offer. This is the last one you have to worry about; for I have seen very good staff members who are quiet and strict, this is mainly to show that your staff is friendly.
- UNBAISED - If a player that the (potential) staff member had some beef with requires assistance, the staff member can safely drop their past and assist them.
These are nice little brownie points to grant your user(s) if they look like a good choice to become a staff member
- ARCHITECT - This user is a professional at building very appealing structures. Eye-candy is always good to advertise your server!
- EXPERIENCED - This user has been a staff member before, or even a fellow owner!
- PROGRAMMER - Custom plugins or a website are always good; the things that make your server unqiue will make players want to stay on your server for a long period of time.
That's about it! If you have any other admin-related questions, if I should continue APG, or any change(s) you wish for me to do or add into this chapter of APG, please comment below along with honest comments and critism. Thanks!
