What is "griefing"?

Griefing is the act of making the game hard to enjoy. In terms of minecraft it's the act of destroying creations made by others.

Why "grief"?

They're many reason to grief, and the most common one is the "Random Grief". This is usually just randomly going onto a server and messing things up. This is what most people consider any grief to be. But nay, it's not. Another form of griefing is a "Personal Grief". In which someone on the server, mostly abusive admins, and or idiotic players. This is the form of griefing which I can understand and I do back up completely. The last form of grief I know about is the "Revenge Grief". A form of grefing much like the personal grief in which a player was griefed, knew who did it, told an admin, and nothing happened to said griefer. So in return the player griefs the Faction, Town, and or base of said player. If you are caught in the fury, you might want to consult either your faction, town, whatever members, or the server Admin.

Okay, why should I care?

Now this is the ranty part of my blog, I have seen many people disown a fellow player because he/she got caught griefing and was jailed/kicked/temp ban/banned. Ever stop and think "Hey, maybe their was reasoning behind why my friend, or in some cases use to be friend, griefed that guy?" No, none of you ever think that, you always think that the griefer is just some no life kid who will never have actual friends. I say this because it just bugs me when I see all of this happen to players on random servers, Have you ever had an admin abuse you? Have you ever been griefed and wanted to get the griefer back in some way, shape, or form? Have you ever been horribly insulted on a server by the owners? You all have, and you all either just play it off cool while you internet self-esteem dries up, or you act quick and go on a massive rampage and break stuff.

Now look at it from that point of view. Who is to blame now? The abusive admin? The original griefer who didn't get caught while you did? Or yourself? According to a mass amount of this community it was the abused players fault. Now why would it be the players fault? You may ask, and I will gladly tell you.

No one will ever stop and think, they make rash and irrational decisions. Admins ban the good players while the griefers are considered their Internet friends. These things can get to a guy. When your server fails because you ban the wrong people because YOU didn't think, don't go crying to others, because whose fault is it now? Yours.

Now I have finished my rant/blog. I will leave you with this incase you are still a stubborn crafter.

Look at it this way. People who get bullied, turn into bullies. While people who get griefed, turn into temp griefers.
