I understand it can be tricky to work with NBT crafting but at the moment the way you have it set up is that you require sticks, netherite pickaxes and gold nuggets for your recipes. This is fine for you since you have retextured those items using custom model data however you may have forgotten the fact that it'll work even w/o the custom item you made :(

So you can use just sticks & gold nuggets to make the recipes for the drill a lot cheaper. The nerthrie pickaxes have the same problem but it's cheaper to craft it the custom way so that's kinda irrelevant to my point

Alot of custom data-packs use a "custom crafter" to get around this. Maybe try that?
