Temperature will rise or fall simulation the real world depending on where the player is and the temperature there.
Being outside of the ship during the day will make it rise, while during the night will make it fall. The temperature will fluctuate between highs and lows as to simulate a real life desert and add challenge to your stay.
Luckly for you, the ship's internal thermo regulator survived the fall onto the planet and it is nice and cozy inside it.
You can check what temperature it is by using the temperature display in the ship, or crafting a new one.

Hydration is a really big part of your survival. Craft all sorts of items like water collector that'll such up water from deep within the planet, water filters and purifiers to avoid contaminated water or even waterskins that'll hold a lot more water than a simple bottle.
Being in warm places will also drain your hydration much faster! So be caraful with which armor you're wearing!

Don't be mislead, that is NOT a simple rain! Be careful during your stay, as acid rain and sandstorms will happen periodically and are harmful to humans!
Crafting a Storm Repellent will be the most effective way of dealing with these events.

Tons of new recipes have been introduced to the game as a way to make players be able to get ALL of the blocks from the game! Although you might need to use some other machines as well to be able to get all of the items necessary to create some blocks

Over 100+ new advancements have been added! Complete progression milestone, challenges or secrets to unlock them all!

Vehicles will aid the player in particular tasks. They require fuel to work and otherwise will not move.

New mobs have been added to the map to add more variety and challenges to the exploration! Find new creatures with their own behaviours and drops!

New respawning mechanics involving generating clones! Grow and mutate clones as to keep yourself alive and survive! Clones will maintain the inventory of a player when they respawn, and will also respawn hardcore mode players! Use clone core to induce mutations onto the clone making it stronger, faster, immune to debuffs or even resistant to enviromental effects!

Use these to separate the sand from the useful resources that are within it. The simple sand siever is essential for your survivorship! Although it is a simple machine, it is a very powerfull one, and you can rest assured you'd die without it.

It can be easily automatable using excavators, a material placer, some hoppers and chests.

It also has an electric version that will require less setup and will work almost 5x faster.

All water related machines are important. All life needs water as far as we know, and this planet doesn't seem to have any besides some contaminated water deep within the planet's crust. Use machines to pump the water out and filter it for consumption.

The Planet Scanner is a tool that will aid the survivor in finding useful things. Maybe there is a resource deposit somewhere that may be useful?

The terrarium will cultivate artificially plant lifeforms based on carbon. While its purpose was to create wood, due to mutations on the lifeform within, it's also possible to obtain plants of all sorts rarely!

Excavators do one thing, extract the soil underneath them. While this may seem useless at first, they are essential to automation. Higher tiers will also dig deeper into the soil and recover better and rarer blocks that will contain even better resources. Oh, and don't be mistaken by the picture here, there are way more tiers than just three...
Placing a button on one of its sides will make this machine drop the item on that side instead of storing it.

The drying rack and grill will be your best bet on getting good food. Although very primitive, the drying rack can make organic matter edible in just a few hours and will be your go to in the early stages of your survival. When possible, craft yourself a grill and enjoy some well deserved barbecue! The grill will create even better food sources and is also automatable!

Redstone clocks are literraly just that. They're an easy way to time events. The clocks can be configured from 1 second delay up to 1 minute and will fire a half second redstone pulse from all sides.
