How to install
- Download the All-in-1 Pack
- Unzip the file, you'll then have 3 separete .zip files. 2 maps and a resource pack
- Put the maps in your saves folder in AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves
- Unzip the maps
- Put the resource pack file in AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks, no need to unzip it!
- Open up minecraft in 1.19.2 and apply the Desolation resource pack as the upmost pack.
- Choose one of the maps (Normal or Hardcore) and start playing!

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR GAME!
- Datapack:
1. Download the new Update from the link in this windown
2. Unzip the file you've downloaded, you'll then have a folder named "datapacks"
3. Go to AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves\Desolation
4. Delete the folder called "datapacks" and place the new one you unziped in its place!
5. Go into your Desolation game and execute the command in chat /reload
6. Some machines may need to be broken and placed down again to update
7. If you run into any issues while updating, leave a comment or join our discord if you want an answer faster.
- Resource Pack:
1. Download the Resouce Pack from the link in this windown
2. Go to AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks
3. Delete your old Desolation Resource Pack
4. Place the new one in its place
5. Apply it in game!

--- About This Game ---
Desolation is a custom survival adventure Minecraft map based around automation. 100% Vanilla, no mods!!
The experience pairs a hand-made world with custom-made datapacks and a resource pack to deliver a new experience to the player in the form of a completely new original game called Desolation.
Inspired by Subnautica, Raft, automation games and the progression system of skyblock, it will feature machines that the player can craft and use to create industries and automate the process of getting resources and, in some cases, even crafting them. Gather and manage resources, create your own industry, automate every task and prosper!
Automation is the main appeal for the map. Machines can work with other redstone components to create a complete and complex industry where almost every task doesn't need player input.
Craft and use machines like an electric sieve, a crusher to destroy rocks and get minerals, the planetary scanner to find hidden areas, water filters and purifiers, heaters and coolers and much more.
Other mechanics such as temperature and hydration, as well as the planet’s hostile wildlife, will be the main challenges for the player to overcome. Areas can be hotter than others, and actions as well as armor will also affect your body temperature and water levels. Days are incredibly hot and nights are unbelievably cold, creating a never ending struggle all day long.
Do not stay put. Although your ship has lots of technologies that might help you, some you’ll have to get yourself. Explore around the world to find blueprints and rare resources that might help you. But be prepared, as this is not an easy task in such a harsh environment. Explore tons of custom-made structures and locations in search of anything that might make you survive just a bit longer.
Equip yourself. Use anything and everything you can get your hands on to craft custom armors with a variety of effects to aid you. Choose wisely on when to use them, as they also affect your temperature.

Is it multiplayer compatible?: Yes. Although it's possible that some mechanics break if the map is loaded onto a modded server. It's not advised to use things like paper, purpur, fabric, etc...
Is it laggy?: From what I could test from friends and my own experience, it might lag if you spam too many machines. Besides that, the map is totally playable on a good enough pc. Haven't tested it in potatoes tho...
What version are you using?: Map is currently made for 1.19.2, and I'm currently updating it to 1.20.1.
Can redstone be used alongside the machines?: Yes! It's also encouraged to do so.
Will there be a bedrock version?: No, sorry.
What's the main objective?: The main story goal is to escape the planet somehow and go home, while trying to survive the planet's harsh environment by all means possible.
What will I be doing during my playthrough?: There are a ton of things to do in the game, you'll be mainly trying to survive and get resources at the beginning, but as time goes on, you'll start to venture out further and further from your ship into unknown territory and discover huge structures and secret locations! During all of this, you'll be working on expanding your base with new machines, farms and technologies all original only to Desolation!
What does the end game look like?: The player will be encouraged to build a complete and complex industry that gathers, crafts and stores all resources using the machines, redstone components and logic. Although this isn't necessary, it makes the whole experience more fun, and most game mechanics will push the player in the direction of automation.
I really love building, will there be a way to get more blocks?: Yes. Some machines are literally made with builders in mind, as to give them access to a variety of different blocks for that exact reason. Lots of new recipes have been introduced as well as to allow access to even more blocks.

There were some MASSIVE bugs in the updated version released earlier today, and I'm so sorry!!
A hotfix has been uploaded, and you can update it right now.
If you've already updated your game, you'll only need to re-download the datapack folder, there was no change to the resource pack!
For everyone else, just update your game as described at the top of the PMC page
Hotfix changelog:
- Fixed a bug regarding the Region Scanner not breaking properly
- Fixed a bug regarding the Region Scanner not scanning properly
- Fixed a bug regarding the Region Scanner not locating new areas properly
- Fixed a bug regarding both scanners allowing for the acquisition of an illegal item
- Made the Material placer more reliable, it should now always place blocks properly
- Changed the recipes of: Electrical Sand Siever and Excavator v3
- Fixed advancement: Barbecue Weekend
- Updated advancement: Automation
- Fixed a bug regarding turning sand into mud also counting as drinking water
- Reworked Open Crate
- Base block updated to barrel
- Will no longer stop dropping items if activated by redstone
- To stop its function now, you'll need to lock the hopper feeding the machine items!
