I think this is a cool concept, a small quality of life datapack that's nice to have in you world. However, because it has so few features, it should at least be good at what it does.
Unfortunately, the dirt bomb doesn't fill holes very well. It overflows them, meaning it's just as much of a pain to clean them up as it would have been to fill them in. It definitely would be better if it filled in to match the height of surrounding terrain. And, as Kefaku pointed out, maybe changing the block it places to match terrain as well, including foliage, etc.
What I really like about your pack is, how you decided to focus on just one small thing. That's much better than overestimating what you can to in 1 week, making big plans, getting stressed out and submitting something that feels completely incomplete and unpolished.
That beeing said, you still could've done a little more to make it feel a little bit more complete. For example, you could've made the top layer actually have grass and foliage, so it matches the "Overgrown" theme a little more. Or you could've made it adapt to the terrain height, so it looks more natural than just a block of dirt sticking out of the ground.
Also, the dirt should replace non-solid blocks, not only air, because otherwise weir things like this happen:
Overall, while I like the simplicity of the pack, perhaps it's a little to simple to feal useful/complete. I hope you'll continue working on this after the jam ended, to make it even cooler.
I'm quite satisfied with this little experiment, I always like to create something useful and easy to use to increase people using datapacks.
Thank you for your advices.
