HEY' I'M BACK-- am I late? Hopefully not--
With this beautiful™ pack, I made it so that each trim of armor in the upcoming 1.20 update is capable of having a custom ability given to it when you apply a trim. It isn't quite set armor, as it applies even when you mix and mash. Though, if you do go all in on one, you might get a more potent version of the effect
I have also removed the recipe for the templates! Sorry, I felt that it would be OP when paired with these bonuses, hope that makes sense at least. And don't worry, I left the netherite one alone. If you want to be able to still dupe them, I recommend putting the 1.20 update snapshot datapack just above this one and that should fix it well and good for you

All Trim Bonuses
Coast
Gives the player regeneration in the rain. Regen I with one piece, II with two or three pieces, and regen III for all four pieces
Dune
Gives the player saturation. Specifically, half a hunger bar every 20 seconds for one, with five seconds cut off for each piece
Eye
Adds attack damage, giving +10% attack damage for each piece (linear, not compounding)
Rib
Increases the rate of wither skeleton skull drops (around 10% chance to drop per level)
Sentry
Gives the player knockback resistance equivalent to the netherite counterpart. For a tip, this means that you can take nearly no knockback with full netherite sentry armor
Snout
Decreases the time it takes nearby piglins to trade significantly
Spire
Increases max health (half a heart per piece)
Tide
Gives the player various ocean powers (replenishes every 30 seconds)
Vex
Increases the user's attack speed slightly for each piece equipped
Ward
Gives an additional half bar of protection with armor
Wild
Random chance for the player to heal 2 hearts when they eat food (5% per piece of armor)
I have also removed the recipe for the templates! Sorry, I felt that it would be OP when paired with these bonuses, hope that makes sense at least. And don't worry, I left the netherite one alone. 1 Update Logs
1.0 Release : by JuceDoesThings 01/25/2023 8:52:54 pmJan 25th, 2023
1.0 Update
Oh, hey! Didn't see you there. Well, while you're here, why don't you check out my pack? It's a little thing for the new 1.20 snapshots, and I think you'll like it! Makes it so that armor trims actually have a little bit of a bonus to them. Because, of course, there should be no such thing as cosmetics in the game about doing what you wantAdditions in 1.0
- Unique armor set for every single armor trim
Coastal Trim Set
- Suit now allows you regeneration in the rain!
- It uses armor stands to detect, so it might be a bit finnicky at times. Be kind, he's trying his best
- With one piece you get regen I, with two or three pieces you get regen II, and with a full set you get regen III
Dunes Trim Set
- Gives the player saturation for every piece equipped
- Starts out as half a hunger bar every 20 seconds, but gets 5 seconds faster with each piece
- Great for exploring!
Eyes Trim Set
- Increases attack damage for every piece equipped
- Increases by 10% for every piece
- Linear rather than exponential, so having a full set will make a netherite sword do 11.2 dmg, not 11.7
Ribs Trim Set
- Increases chance for wither skeleton skulls to drop
- I don't know the exact percent chances for it to drop, but I believe it increases by about 10% with every piece of armor
Sentry Trim Set
- Decreases knockback, proportional to how netherite does
- Since you can put this on netherite, you can actually effectively disable knockback with it if you want to
Snout Trim Set
- Decreases the time it takes piglins to trade
- Decreases to 4.5 seconds with one piece, 3 seconds with 2, 1.5 with 3, and 0.5 with all 4. Fast af
Spire Trim Set
- Increases your max health
- I know it sounds OP but don't worry! Only half a heart with every piece, maxing you out at 12 hearts for a full set
Tide Trim Set
- Gives the player various effects every 30 seconds they're underwater
- A little finnicky, might iron out some of the bugs later
- 5 seconds of regen II and 25 of water breathing with 1 piece
- 10 seconds of regen II, 30 seconds of water breathing, and 45 seconds of night vision with 2 pieces
- 15 seconds of regen II, 35 seconds of water breathing, 45 seconds of night vision, and 10 seconds of strength I with 3 pieces
- 20 seconds of regen II, 40 seconds of water breathing, 10 seconds of strength II, 10 seconds of dolphin's grace, and 45 seconds of night vision with a full set
Vex Trim Set
- Increases your attack speed for each piece equipped
- Works well paired with the attack damage one
- Increases by 0.1 per piece
Ward Trim Set
- Gives additional protection for every piece equipped
- Half a armor bar for every piece, up to 2 full armor pieces total. That's, like, almost a full gold chestplate
Wild Trim Set
- Makes it possible to get healed for 2 hearts every time you consume food
- Only a 5% chance with one piece, but up to 20% when you get a full set
Changes in 1.0
- Armor trims are no longer able to be duplicated in a crafting table. Sorry!

emerald- makes villager trades cheaper
gold- piglins do not attack you
redstone- increases potion durations
lapis- adds an extra enchantment level to enchantments already on the armor
netherite- reduces knockback taken
amythest- increases luck
diamond- gives an extra level of fortune
i couldn't think of what to give the other materials but i hope these were helpful
Maybe a custom trim could make all Ores have a glowing effect like the Glowstone Dust could be applied to Armor Trim as material?
