What does it do?
This little datapack will gives a leveling up system to your world like in RPG-s. You start lvl one, and you need to get stronger by gaining xp, to be the best amongst all.
Getting stronger!
Every time you level up, you gain half a heart, and every 5 levels 1 attack damage. At lvl 1 you will have only 5 heart, and your attack is half a heart without weapon (like in the vanilla game.)
Enemy mobs and may health
Every mob will gain plus health and attacak damage equaly to their level, after lvl 50, they get knockback resistance too. (The attack always gets halved: for example, an imaginary mob hase a base attack of 10, then it is becoming lvl 20, after that its attack grows to 10+20=30, finally, it gets halved 30/2=15, so it will have 15 attack damage, and the knockback resistance is 0.005 monster of the level.) The max level, which can be reached by players an mobs: is lvl 100. Every boss mob is lvl 100!
Some biomes have much stronger mobs than others, these are the biomes:
> jungle
> swamp
> mangrove swamp
> desert
> badlands
> dark forest
Other xp gaining methods
- Eating cooked meat or golden apples
- Villager trading
- Fishing
- Enchanting
- Curing zombie villagers
- Breading animals
Watch out!
- !Using totem of undying will decrase one lvl! (Because i personally think, it is a little bit overpowered :P)
Multiplayer
We tested it in multplayer. It worked fine. (The players level is displayed below their name)
!Fixer!
If you don't see the lvls above the mobs head, type this command in: /function fixer:issue_fixer you should get a message back, which confirms, that the names are working (or should work). If you didn't get the message beck, that means: the 14 14 chunk in the nether can't be loaded because it is outside the border, or you are using a custom nether, where the chunk doesn't appear. Or i am just dumb... that is a solution too.
In the fixer namespace you can reset your level too, with the /function fixer:level_reset command.
!Possible compatibility issues with other datapacks!
-The datapack operates with continuous team changes, so packs that use teams cannot be used with this pack!
-The datapack occupies the subtitles slot to show levels, so it is not visible in other packs!
-The datapack has a very memory-eating main function, so it can cause a pretty rough lag with other packs!

9 Update Logs
1.20 support + some changes : by SirUmbrella 08/10/2023 5:24:20 amAug 10th, 2023
- 1.20 support
- The datapack now no longer keeps a nether chunk loaded, instead it loads a chunk (which has nothing in it) into a custom dimenson, hopefully reducing lag
- Added the sniffer and the camel
- The player no longer gets the wither effect, when it dies/spawns thanks to the damage command.
- Added the mangrove swamp to the damgerous biomes list
