When used with a smithing table, you can create extra rails with Iron, Redstone, Gold, and Smooth Stone blocks!
When you place a rail of any kind with a specific block as stated above in a smithing table, it will create more rails.
(1) Rail + Iron Block = 48 Rails
(2) Powered Rail + Gold Block = 24 Rails
(2) Activator Rail + Redstone Block = 24 Rails
(2) Detector Rail + Smooth Stone = 24 Rails
