Computer purchesing assisstance
Hello everyone of PMC, I would be obliged if anyone could help.
I am purchesing a new computer and am in the range of $1000 and will give or take a little on the price. I also need enough money left to buy acceseries for it. I am not as computer intellegent as the modern teen, and know how to use my Ipad.
The laptop will need to be able to run
- Games such as minecraft mabye games like Skyrim
- Music software
- Have a long battery life
- Watch videos and run fast and powerful
While searching for computers I found the Lenovo IdeaPad Y500, Y580, and Y400, all good, but low battery life. Could I extend thier life, or just get something else? I wish to keep my options open. Thanks for the help everybody!

I hear the lenovo Y500 and other Y series have some problems, like the touchpad goes bad after a little while and it breaks down drasticly fast, is that true? How long have you had yours? And the battery life i have seen is pretty short.
I hear the Alienware m14x is great if you look, you can get one around $1000

i know, ill most likely get a desktop, and the ibuypower is probably the way ill go.

So you want a desktop or Laptop you should really think about this it took me 1 year to decide what i want then i finally bought my baby

1st thing first know what you want. That could be the biggest hassle.

Actually, i could deal with a desktop.

i cant build one, i would probably make the most expensive pile of junk in my town
and I can only afford what i can, what about maingear?

For the price, you should buy a desktop since they are more customizable and reliable. Laptops tend to slow down dramatically after 1 year, desktops will last you on the long run.

True dat. And for desktop I would reccomend the Alienware x51, It can run all major games at a awesome framerate, for only $700

alienware x51 is way overpriced. Avoid buying PCs from alienware.

In what way is it overpriced? It's a computer that can run all new games on MAX settings for only $700. You find me a desktop that can do all that for a better price -.-

A gtx 645 wont run all games on MAX settings. Also, the processor is just an i3-3220. It only has 6gb ddr3 ram and it dosent even begin to tell you what the motherboard is. Alienware just isn't a computer company for the enthusiast. Honestly, you should build a computer yourself, but if that is not your thing, customize a computer from ibuypower or cyberpower.
