And AMD has technologies that don't kill framerate when recording I believe. They're literally both the same, if one comes out with a "new" technology, the other comes out with a counterpart in a few weeks or so...

Everyone who has replied to this thread except for RoboShadow and 57r4d is wrong.

@Person recommending an AMD Card
There are literally hundreds of AMD cards. They can range from the most powerful card in the world (295x2) to an extremely low-end one (240). (Not that you're really wrong, though, as I did recommend an AMD card as well. You just weren't specific)

@Person saying never use AMD Cards
You're wrong. AMD cards are just as good as Nvidia cards. The only benefit of getting Nvidia over AMD is power consumption and running temps.

@Person saying he's asking too much for his budget
Do you even GPU, bro? Some $200 GPUs can max out BF4 on ultra graphics.

@OP, for your $200 budget, definitely go with an AMD R9 280. They are quite powerful cards. They should do everything you want them to do, and probably more.

Edit: OP, answer 57r4d's question. It's pretty hard to recommend a card if we don't know what hardware it's working with. If your PSU isn't strong enough, you'll have to upgrade that too.

Edit: (again) OP, I noticed that you said you wanted an AMD graphics card so that it'll run faster with your processor. Although I listed an AMD card for you, a Nvidia card will perform the same. The brands don't affect performance with each other. I just wanted to let you know this, for future upgrades.

You do realize that CUDA cores are just Stream Processors, right? It's not like Nvidia really has something very different from AMD. The only real difference is that some games are optimized for Nvidia's CUDA cores, while other games (bf4, for example) are optimized for AMD cards. However, since it is generally believed that Nvidia cards are better, and I would assume the majority of the internet has Nvidia cards, more games are optimized for Nvidia cards, meaning AMD cards will perform slightly worse. But that doesn't mean AMD cards are inferior to Nvidia. Not that I have completely deconstructed a GPU before, but I would assume that they're made out of the same materials.

1.) AMD uses openCL, which honestly is started to be better than CUDA. So no reason to get a nVidia card just for that.

2.) Who uses CUDA to record? Newer GPU's use h.264 to encode, which if you use that, you get an unnoticeable frame drop.

Don't be an uneducated fan boy, especially when you're telling others to get it.

You are asking too much from your budget. You can't get those framerates from that budget. At least not the shaders part.

That literally makes no sense. Both would work well with your processor.
