Hey guys. I've been playing minecraft since the start of 2011, and I think it's a great game. But one major problem I've always had was the fact of how bad my netbook runs it. Heres my specs:
-Windows 7 Starter Edition
-1.66 GHz Intel Atom CPU N450 Processor
-Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 Graphics Card
I generally have between 1 - 25 FPS in an area that I'm in alot. outside that, I'm lucky if I have 10. It's very annoying because that is with my render distance at tiny because I feel I'm not experiencing the game fully. I have smooth lighting off to. I am hopping someone has a way to speed this thing up, it's [b]very[b] irrtitating. Tell me what specs you might need to know, if you do. Thankyou for your time.

Do you have a netbook?

Please, stop commenting on this old Thread. It should not have been revived in the first place. The problem was solved, so can we stop commenting now?

CyprezzYah, if your using 16x16 that's the lowest it goes. I believe 8x8 & 4x4 are simply 16x16 faked to look lower. I could be wrong but it's unlikely you'll see an impact from changing your texture pack.
You're wrong. Some might be, but you can make packs that are actually 8x8 and 4x4. I've made a 6x6 pack, and I even started a 2x2 pack.

The other mod was by the same person that made McRegion, Scaevolus. I've never personally used it but it's called Optimine and it has been updated for 1.3. Give it a shot and let us know if you see any improvements.

Cyprezz posted a link to some speed helping stuff a while back, including the now useless mcregion, because it is now the default. You might want to look for that. Don't think there are any lower resolution textures, though someone made a pack that is mostly solid colors without the noise, though I do not know if that would make it better.

I am having a similar problem with my netbook so i was curious as to if there were any good low res texture packs around to decrease the lag and free it up a tad. Viewing the game in the tiny view is not all that riveting.

Might be your memory too. Your processor is a little slow too.
