Hello, my name is Jake and I've been in the Minecraft server community for over a year, I've hosted servers with 40 people on 24/7... that server was 3rd "Most Recently Popular" for 2 weeks, (It was a Multi-Server, [Creative, Survival, Factions, Build, Bioshock, and Bioshock 2])
Anyways, I strayed away from the Minecraft community for a long time and I'm looking to come back now!!!

Well python,Java, and C++ are easy languages to learn. If you look around places you would be able to find tutorials and such. Now we should go back to the topic.

i would doubt any 14 yr old actually knows how to code java :\

I'm 13th and can code in some languages like phyton and Java. As you can see age doesn't matter.
Since I got 7 I followed dad to his job where he programmed games afew times every year, looked and got inspired, after the first time I asked if he could show me (I was 7) he taught me some things like Game Maker, Scratch and such programs, it wasn't until I was around 8-9 he showed me the language Java where he taught me that, I'm fifteen now and I can programming languages like HTML, CSS, C++, C#, GML (Game Maker), Java, Python and LUA. After you have learnt your first language, it's getting easier and easier, because of I learn Java, python and Lua, HTML and CSS and GML was nothing, I just read the wiki and saw some tutorials and I could it pretty much after some days / weeks. Always inspired by being like my dad. I have pretty much gotten into texturing, modelling and game design right now, because I'm working on a FPS game, one year into development now.
U doubt 14 old can code in java, ur 13 and can code java...

Might you be able to teach others how to configure plugins and such? I've been wishing to learn so for a while, but I have not yet.
Its something one can only teach ones self.
Configuring plugins is terribly easy sir, you visit there download page and read the installation instructions. That takes 2mins. Literally.
However I'm hoping you are talking about coding plugins, this requires a lot of effort and time. The language used is Java, then Bukkit API in order to code the actual plugins. I took me about 2 hours to be able to code extremely basic plugins, and ever since that, I've advanced a ton to the level I am at today. I started coding Bukkit in January, and can code more or less anything! I've been coding Java for 2 years, so it was an easy step for me! With commitment and time, you can do anything with java.
