Apparently there was an offiical MS/Mj response to this, but my search-fu isn't finding the actual press release outside of MS/Mj's restricted access discord…

To me, this says there were issues, but MS/Mj is claiming the level of problems was not enough to change the outcome.

I don't care about the point, bruh. One person's vote has a weak impact in a vote as stupid as the mob vote. I'm not going to sell out to Mojang just to get a cape that I can't retexture either.

nah bro useless af. but the attribute it would add would be usefull for making op items, so ud have reach ahcks in vanilla.
also youd probably have to hold it in your offand replacing a shield or totem instead of having a new slot for it, so its just a disadvantage
like imagine getting knocked down by a phantom while biullding and not having a totem in ur offhand

Yes, building 1 block further away is very very useful.
in theory mojang didn't exactly mention how it worked, and that seemed very sus.
armadillo even though its wolf armour isn't very good, it adds more to a savannah, which have not been updated for 10 years.

If we're going by fairness, the crab did win. If Mojang doesn't connect the dots and decide to do the right thing (revoke the armadillo's winning position) then we're doomed to have more botted mob votes in the future. A potential solution is yes, don't vote at all or for Mojang to just scrap the mob vote idea.

Yeah, its fine. Not my choice, but at least its cute. Crab would've been better. Cute and actually useful. I figured it'd be an easy sweep for it considering longer reach helps literally every player on basically any building project. Maybe people just don't realize how much time they waste pillaring up over and over just to place a few blocks each time.

idk why they dont just delete mob votes, they bring out the worst in us. We all hate each other for voting the phantom as it is really annoying. Now we've been voting the most useless mobs. Allay was useless. Glow squid was useless. sniffer though, everyone loved so that is the only not useless mob as it is very cute. Armadillo, really useless. The mob votes should disapear. Or they should always add all three and the mob votes just vote for what mob should be added first, then the others will be added next update.

I like the idea of pet armor, I just wish we didn't have to kill the armadillo for it. I wish it could drop a scute when it grows up like the turtles do.

it was botted, but i think its the most usefull one of the three. the crab sounds usefull, but when have you ever went "damn i cant reach that block over there i wish mojang would add something to extend my reach"? All three of them are useless and dissapointing, but the armadillo looks the most fitting into mc. Penguins are ugly and useless. they wont boost your boat in nether highways, cuz they'd definetly need to swim in water to do it, and even if they did, nobody would need that. crab is only good to make crabrave. Armadillo is also useless, but i bet a lot of ppl including myself are gonna make good texturepacks with the dog armor, and its probably gonna bring ome new attributes and have some usefull propreties to make datapacks and nbt items. also damn the comments are political

Ya you could have a texture pack for wolf armor, but it doesn't give them wolf armor, it just looks like it does.
And the things aren't useless, you just don't think they have any use crab = more reach | penguin = faster boats | armadillo = wolf armora

No, the mob vote was botted. It didn't deserve to win. The armadillo was the most useless mob out of them all, yet nostalgia made people vote for it. "Make your child self proud and vote for the armadillo!" No! You only care about the dog armor (I bet every single person that voted for the armadillo because of the dog armor is going to keep their dog in their base anyway). We can't only look into the past. Even the penguin was better than the armadillo.

The armadillo's vote was almost completely botted. Barely anybody was voting for the armadillo because of how stupid and useless it's features were.

I'm not gonna say it didn't deserve it. I have predicted what would happen and my prediction was on point.
Penguin will lose. Armadillo will win. But everyone would've wanted the crab.

I just think the crab deserved the one more because it would've brought some very interesting mechanics that would be very useful. Especially for datapacks.
