Jeb is Awesome he updated the minecraft and he putted Lots of big Updates!

I as one of the few people who don't hate Jeb finds that the part of the community that does hate him are often traditionalists whom loved the game in it's older years minecraft or people whom hate lagging. Really though it isn't that hard to just ignore various updates that Jeb installed by not crafting what they add and for those whom hate lag Minecraft is actually not very graphics intensive but code intensive instead as the world in minecraft is subject to constant change unlike the worlds in FPS games that are already laid out for you and only change via scripts or mods.

Finally, It seems that minecraft also runs fairly smoothly now thanks to the updates (at least for me).

Notch trusted Jeb to be put in charge of the game, so I don't think people should blame Jeb for what happens.

Performance issues. It quite basically boils down to this.

[*] Old code, not being optimized/removed when needed.
[*] Notch/Jeb/everyone having different coding styles.
[*] Not removing redundant code, that they may or may not realize they have.

To me, it seems Jeb is turning kinecraft into a RPG or somewhere towards that instead of a survival/sandbox game thats it was intended to be. But thats what I think and I might be totaly wrong...

You guys are missing the point, Jeb himself doesn't add everything in Minecraft after he became leader, there is a whole team at Mojang, Jeb just decides whether to add it or not and make sure everything is in order. I don't like where Minecraft is heading though, they are making it to fantasy and less sandbox, If anything they should stop adding big realms and game changers and maybe add another fucking ORE, I mean cmon, Im sick of the same old stuff. Anyway that was my rant :/

People used to blame Notch for stuff. And its a bit messed up that more than half the community think Notch is still in control of minecraft. Jeb made minecraft awesome!

I think most people don't like jeb because they don't know him. Notch was the creator of mine craft and people knew him as that. Most people who don't know about what happened probably think jeb took over notch's job when he didn't.

Well I am happy someone took over the project. because if not it would have stayed the same and eventually people would stop buying it and then notch would release it free and then All of a sudden the servers for mine craft are shutdown because notch has run out of money to pay for the cost of a server that can hold over 2,000,000
people.

I really think you guys are being controversial for hating on Jeb and loving Notch.You like notch and he thinks jeb would be the best person to keep the game fun and updating. So you're pretty much saying I trust notch and he trusts Jeb but i don't trust Jeb. (Think about it)

If you are thinking this, then you don't know what an RPG is.
RPG = Role Playing Game, and you do not role play in Minecraft unless you want to. It still is, and has always been, a sandbox survival game. (Plus Creative in Beta 1.8)
I'm pretty sure Notch would have added some of this stuff anyway.

The only thing I'm wanting is the old terrain generation from Beta 1.3 - 1.7.3, but only as a world generation option because I sort-of like the new generation, but not as much.

Don't know who's idea it was to make the grass different in each biome, but if it was jeb's, it was a good idea but I want it so I can choose the color of grass.

1. There are many other people who likes horses other than you.
2. New launcher prevents many people who plays cracked Minecraft from playing it.

I personally think minecraft has gotten old, and Jeb taking over has ruined it completely, which is why i dont play it much anymore.
But of course, everyone has their on opinion.

Stop updating? The game would have became incredibly boring and would eventually die. I love the new updated.

Eh. There's nothing actually wrong with Jeb. He was the one who brought us redstone and there were quite a few neat additions along the way, but under his time as lead developer, Minecraft seems to have left the original sandbox theme of the game and tried to become more of an RPG. Honestly, all the new buffs to mobs and debuffs to helpful things like potions are a huge pain in the butt. That, and it just seems like a lot of the additions to Minecraft have been mostly useless, like the beacon and the enderdragon/wither bosses.

I don't care about minecraft much anymore, and I don't blame either. Personally, I don't like most of the recent updates, including 1.8, if you consider that recent. It kinda went downhill from there, imo. I don't like the new terrain it added, it just feels weird to me. Horses are alright, I guess, but somewhat useless, when you consider an entire update was based around them and similar features. I would expect that they would make a small, specific biome to spawn villages, temples, and other "Set Piece" type structures in to make it more organized, but they essentially just slapped in a bit of code for it to spawn in the other biomes, where they often get ruined by spawning on top of a cave, mob spawning area, or such.

Overall, my biggest peeve about it is the new world gen. If they had a Pre-1.8 World Generation option, I might still be playing. I'm tired of digging through messy jungles and large sinkholes under a village, with dead villagers and falling gravel galore.

I don't blame either. And I think Jeb is epic as well as Notch. Jeb has put some pretty epic things into the game, and I really like that.

People don't like change but they really like complaining, so they direct their (mostly) nonsensical comments at the lead developer.

It's not like many of these bugs are ones that break the game anyhow.. The ones like the sprinting glitch (Didn't experience it myself, but heard about it) were fixed pretty quickly, and I myself don't really experience many MC glitches that aren't because of plugins..

Well about the bugs at least they fix them. I mean they could just say "nah I'm to lazy".

I like what Jeb added to the game. I don't know what people are talking about. I like the Wither. I like Horses. I like harder Skeletons and Zombies. He added what is now my favorite ore in MC, Emeralds.
Jeb is making amazing updates to MC.

To be honest, they both code like children. Why do you think whenever there's an update they release another update JUST to fix the bugs they created?

If Notch had built a better foundation for MC, it wouldn't be as buggy as it is now. If Jeb could make cleaner and smoother code, there'd be less bugs as well.

after 1.3 (was it 1.3 or 1.2?), Jeb started adding somethings I don't think people liked...

I remember in 1.3 (my second game version ever, I joined in 1.2.5), I would look, and everyone in any comments of youtbe videos overviewing 1.3 were like "Jeb is ruinzing MC!"
"This new update sucks!"
"We want notch!"
"booo jeb"
