I downloaded the server thing from MInecraft.net so I guess it's vanilla. But I need help changing the map to the one I want to change it too. I watched youtube videos and they brought up a folder that was completely different than mine. My folder or what ever didn't have a white-list, banned-ips, server, banned-players, and ops. Do I open the Minecraft_server archive? I'm very new to servers .

you have to make a new notepad file, name it run.bat then paste java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui. into it. dont save it as .txt
1:Run the server file in a folder you got from minecraft.net
2: double click th run.bat
It should create a world file...

I don't know how to say it, all I did was download, launch, and there's a server. All I can do is open the archive. And there is no .bat file
You have to:
1: open up your "world" file in your server file
2: delete all files in the "world" file.
3: Drag all files from the map that you want into the "world" files.
4: Restart and play.
