EULA Loophole?
Hey guys, a server I play on is still doing donations. When I asked about what they are going to do when the EULA is in full-swing they said they found a loophole: You can still purchase a rank with Real-Life money, (the rank includes game-altering items) but to get around this, you can also buy those items with the in-game currency. What do you guys think? I might donate if this is an actual loophole, so I need others opinions. Thanks guys!

You can't use real money to buy in-game money. So no.
Keep this in the topic: mojang-eula-change-t403978.html
The likely thing is that Mojang will work with server hosts, but they'll have a tough time with home-hosted.
COOOCOOO123Swimmer1929KJ_BuildingTeamAnd when the EULA gets enforced, the server is shut down.
They can't just "shut the server down". Please educate yourself on the matter before making false assertions.
They could probably do something :P Like prevent players from joining that Ip
Then the server could change their IP or forward it. There are so many ways.
If someone who bought a rank can buy the items with in-game currency, so can people who didn't buy the rank! This can't work!
What about one person donates, everyone gets rewarded? XD That's fair share.
That is perfectly allowed, they've said that.
I believe you can also reward all currently online players in the same way. So if you've got a quiet server just time it right so only the donater is online.

I guess really all you need is that the donator isn't the only one getting rewarded, but 2+ people. So just donator + another user (not including staff I'm assuming? )
Here's a loophole if you're that desperate:
Users can donate for you to build things for them. From what I can see that is allowed.
So, just build a small 3x3x3 box of diamond blocks. What they do with it after that is up to them.
OR option B for modded servers:
Users can donate to get a hat item, which they can wear. The fact that a shop buys a hat around the corner for $5k is beside the point.
Send me a message, where have you gone? D:

just not allowed to limit gameplay at all in return for donations.
I thought you said you weren't going to donate any more...
It's not a loophole. Why? Because the person paying with real money is able to access the items faster than someone who doesn't pay, therefore giving them an advantage.
Still goes against the EULA. Sorry.

That's not a loophole and has specifically been addressed by Mojang and is considered a violation of their EULA still.
Incorrect, you are ALLOWED to sell items in donation packages, providing they are also available as normal gameplay.
This means you can Mine diamond any time, but if you want a stack of diamonds, you are allowed to donate for it.
This information has been discussed in the other EULA thread and I also proved it with documentation.

Can you send me a link to where they have said this?
So basicly what your saying is, if a non donator can get the rank just by playing, then a "shortcut" can be used by donating? Well, notch said he didn't like Pay 2 Win, but if all players have access to the rank then it should be fine.
So do you think this is a valid loophole?
As in Buy currency and spend currency on a rank?
No, as in buy the rank, but you can also buy the /kit that comes with the rank for in-game money

You're allowed to get a rank for donating, just not get any extra gameplay features.
