That's what my computer did, I bought a new computer and It was running at 50-80 fps at all really good settings. Now that the new launcher was put in I can't get above 15 at the lowest settings. I have tried so much and still the same.

Whats with all this "add more ram"? Ram isnt what gives fps, processing power is the main thing.

The problem is minecraft is using the integrated gpu since the new update. If youre using an nvidia gpu go to manage 3d settings in the nvidia control panel or something similar and then change the globally used gpu to the nvidia gpu. Should do the trick

My game got boosted cause of 1.6 I'm only having 1 issue with fullscreen.

Am I the only one who saw a performance increase with 1.6.1?

I'm talking going from 60-70 FPS to 90-150 FPS.

My lag ingame is no problem. but when I switch to another window, or try to run any other program besides minecraft, the lag is horrible. often the minecraft screen goes black and minecraft stops responding. I hope this is resolved soon or i'm gonna be restricted to 1.5.

I get it too, and I have a really good gaming computer. Luckily it still has good fps, but it has substantially decreased. I used to get 150-200fps, now I barely get 60fps

Ik, I have an alienware m17xR4, Nvidia 675M, 16 gigs of ram and a Intel Core i7, and i get 15 fps. FML. BTW, minecraft 1.6.2 doesnt fix it, neither does optifine. Every other game works perfectly, but minecraft. . But i figured out why it isnt working properly.
Minecraft switched to a new format, if you will. Instead of paying Java for their services, as everyone knows we use java for minecraft. They switched to a free format, they dont have to pay anyone. It is called OpenGL. Go take a look, if we all complain, they might switch back. IDK

Hopefully there will be a fix when 1.6.2 comes out, Optifine is at 92% completion do it will probably be out today so use it for now

Don't blame jeb! He actually just put in somthing the fans have wanted since mo creatures and about the lag problem I am so used to having minecraft with lowest settings. because I always have had very low fps from the get go.

Btw bukkit server is not stable that's why its been lagging!

You guys may need to adjust the ram minecraft runs in. To do this, go into your minecraft profile and edit it

then go to JVM arguments at the bottom of the window, and input -Xmx4G

the number before G will be how many gigs of ram you will alot to minecraft. I recommend 4 gigs

I'm getting lag to. But I've always had lag, I'm actually getting more FPS than 1.5.2

add ram to minecraft
- edit profile
then
- check the boc for jvm arguments
then edit it
-Xmx1G that wat it says change it to
-Xmx2G depends how many ram does ur pc has!

Guys, it's probably the bug fixes that are making your game lag, or the increase of database space that mojang has put into the new launcher.

Yeah same problem here :/ I had around 50 FPS on Far with vanilla 1.5.2.... Now with 1.6.1 I have around 10-20 FPS.... I just need Optifine to update

Hopefully the 1.6.2 update coming up shortly will be fixing the lag. And I still cant believe everyone but me is having lag issues, getting 70 fps.

It seems to be that way for me to hopefuly optifine will update and that will help XD!
