I use fabric and forge, but I like fabric because it is simple and fast.

forge is better, it has more mods but the downside is that sodium is on fabric :/ still, both are good :)

I personally like Fabric. When I started on my mods, I looked at how easy it was to make a mod. Fabric was perfect. It integrates better with Minecraft, it's fast and, not unimportant, the community feels better.

But in the end it's up to you, because the type of mods are different. Some only focus on Forge, others on Fabric. If you want to play certain mods, the choice of loader is made by them.

Forge is older and therefore had more time for popularity
Fabric is much more lightweight and changes less internal stuff than forge
