I would suggest getting WampServer.
This is a good video describing how to set up a MYSQL database with Wamp.

Hooking plugins into your database is as easy as filling in the blanks. Just put in your username (default is root) and your password (you will decide) and usually the other spaces are filled in. Your database table would usually be called Minecraft. PM if you need any more help.

nope i dont even have a mySQL database.

It doesn't matter if you are on a mac, and if you have a mySQL database, do you have the details?
