My virus protection will not open!

I have trend micro titanium I got it when I first got my laptop it opened and auto scanned but for the past month it has not been opening I am really scared that my computer is opened to threats please help!

Which OS is it if its windows 8 windows defender is activated automatically if no antivirus is found.

If its windows defender that isnt opening try downloading AVG or if you want to spend some $$$ buy ESET NOD32 Antivirus
