macgarthurCompletely agree. I think kids today like to have the fancy title like Developer, it makes it seem special. They get to tell people they're a developer. Just like how you'll see a tiny little server with 2 players and 12 staff members with titles like "CEO" or "Chief Financial Officer". It's a Minecraft server not a business.

Lately Minecraft has actually started developing into a business. As around 500 new servers are created each day that means more donations. As soon as a server sets up a donation site it instantly transforms into a business. This is because the server then has its own income being put to other uses towards the server or not. Bigger servers Ie: The Hive, Mineplex, Hypixel, MCCentral are now almost 100% business. They have paid staff members that earn above minimum wage in some cases.

As other members have previously posted the term 'Developer' is extremely broad. Although you probably have not heard of it, there is a name for the people that come on you're server and set up plugins. They are System Admins, hint: NOT DEV. Developers design and create plugins which they then either sell off or give to a server. Developers are called Developers because they develop things. Much like the minecraft system. Plugins run in a '1.0,1.1,1.2 ect.' format. A developer develops the plugin through the stages 1 by 1. Having a real developer on your team is good but it is not their job to set up the server for you. That is a job of Admins. The difference between Sys-Admin and A regular Admin is that they have been chosen to have console access, although it will almost never be full access unless you are a Co-Owner. Developers should not be given console access. Their job is to write script or make a custom plugin for the server. They then pass these to the owner or a sys-admin who then applies it to the server.

Thank You if you actually got this far without skipping most of the text out. I tried to make a clear explanation of what a developer does and the difference it has between a sys- admin.

Its Paul... Get a life mate. From your message I take it you are about maybe age 9-12? What you have just shown in you're message is you very clearly aren't a hacker, you don't know what hacking is and that you are extremely childish. Writing upside down is not difficult dude. ==> ¿buıop ɐʎ ʍoɥ ʎǝɥ <== Simple. Ending a sentence with "I'm such a good hacker" is this area shows your immaturity. Hackers do not expose themselves. That's how people get banned and reported to the police so unless you want a knock on your door at 1AM. I wouldn't bother. Finding someone's first name from a minecraft name is also not difficult. Many people use their real name for their skype name which they then list onto separate forums. If they don't, most people have a skype account. If they haven't listed their name on the forums they must have in skype as it is a requirement. You just have to put their username into skype to get a name. As previously stated, not impressive. With regards to this thread I believe that this kid is simply attention seeking. Its quite a common thing.
