Help/JavaEdition I updated Java and now Tekkit keeps freezing

Ive actually been using the linux jar file the whole time. the windows version never worked from the start. but it seems its actually just the server i was trying to play on thats messed up. i didnt think to try single player until just a second ago, and it seems to be working fine

EDIT- that doesnt seem to make sense to me though. how could the server being messed up cause a program on my computer to freeze?

EDIT2- did some more playing around and it seems like its actually sphax that's causing my game to crash. i can play on the server fine if i use the default texture pack. weird that updating java would cause this.

I don't have a server to post, but im trying to find a server that runs a certain way. Does anyone here have a server or play on one that:
-is survival
-has towny
-and does not require donations or admin priveliges to start new towns
-has ee disabled
-no whitelist
-has an admin shop (iconomy preferrable)
-has not banned quarries

I've been looking for a while and every server i join has some element to it that i really dont like. The smaller the server, the better. Message me if you have one you think I'd like
