What if potential moderators have no feet? I fear our robotic overlords will not take this into account and pass over our potential footless friends.

Societies and groups do have a positive impact in helping people improve, however, I feel the PMCSA grew out of what it was originally meant to be - a group to help people improve in skinning and provide a place for people to share ideas.

I mean, last time I checked - the group had 720 members, which is pretty ridiculous for something meant to be a small association to help teach others and network.

As a teacher myself, a class of 30+ people is very hard to manage and give input to individuals - the more people you have in a group, the harder it is to convey ideas and improve; also, the more centralized leadership structure you have, the harder it is to improvise and adapt to situations. (Hence why having one person try to manage over 700 people is just asking for trouble).

My advice - kick out all of the thieves (there are countless) and instead of looking for one member, choose amongst yourselves a few competent members to run the group.

With my experience in helping run the Angelblock society - I've found a group led by one person is only as strong as that individual - if that person fails, then the whole group fails with them; sharing the burden with other people helps quite a bit.

    TLDR
: don't go for a 'head chief' and get rid of all the thieves and people who don't contribute to the group.

Zaralith pretty much covered everything in his reply on the first page, however, discussion is a good thing

    The advertisements

As Zar pointed out; advertisements are targeted and are the only way to keep the site running - PMC is and always will be free, however servers and hosting companies have to be paid for

    Derps

There will always be a share of derps in whatever community you visit - We've started implementing new rules such as only being able to post mods once you reach level 3; if you want early access to post your mod, you must message a super-moderator explaining the concept of your mod and how it would benefit the community.

This has seen a decrease in things such as viruses, spam mods which don't add any quality content, whilst encouraging mod creators to create quality content.

    Important People

If people leave that's their own choice - everyone is treated fairly and the mod team is chosen because of their ability to be impartial = if someone breaks the rules, then they'll be dealt with in the same manner as a normal member, irrelevant of whether they have friends on the mod team or are a popular member.

If a person decides to delete all their content, then the only person they're hurting are their fans who enjoyed their submissions.

    Experience Bar

The experience bar is generally a positive thing - it creates a drive to create high quality content and provides a form of reward to members who consistently upload content that the community enjoys.

If anyone is rude or considers themselves above others then that is a product of their upbringing and personality, not the XP bar.

    Bonds

Community is the most important thing on this website - afterall, the tagline of PMC is 'a creative community fansite'

    - Members are encouraged to join in discussions on the forums and meet new people on chat.

I can't think of one single person on the mod team who wouldn't be happy to message back to a member asking legitimate questions; the mod team was chosen not only to enforce the site rules but to help members out - if anyone is unsure about anything or needs advice, they can always message a member of the mod team.

If anyone feels an unjust moderation decision has been made, they can message the moderator who made the decision and they will happily explain why the decision was made - and if they're still unhappy, they can get in touch with Paril or Zaralith.

The mod team keeps in constant contact with each other and we're always looking for ways to improve the site and make member's experience on the site more enjoyable.

If you're wanting to make cinematic and machinima videos - then you need to install the 'cam studio mod' I can't recommend it enough - it lets you create fluid camera angle paths and record the footage at very slow speeds.

(You can then speed up the footage when you edit it - if you have a 2minute clip at 15fps, speed the footage up 200% and it will give you a 1minute clip with 30fps)

30fps is all you need for minecraft videos.

As a project maker I can safely say my skinning skills are abysmal compared to the talented skinners out there; many skinners spend months honing their skills.

Skinners put just as much work into their submissions as project makers and the community respects that - hence why the majority of them have a huge amount of subscribers - take Leostereo for example; he has almost 4,000 subscribers - which is almost double the amount that builders like myself and block_fortress have.

    In regards to the points you make;

    1. skins are 2d where projects are 3d

    I don't even....
    2. skins have a limited amount of pic's where a project has endless amount of blocks

Surely this is a weighted advantage in favour of projects - a project maker gets 20 chances to show off their submission as best as they can; with an amazing main picture if they have time; a skinner must rely on their artwork without any editing whatsoever.

    3. you will make more projects than skins you use whilst playing minecraft
Skinners on the site have a lot more submissions than the average project maker.

    4. minium time to make a skin is 15 min where a project is at least 1h
I can't comment on skin makers in general, but as a moderator, I've seen multiple drafts of skins that people use before submitting a final submission - going over their work and retexturing certain parts over and over until it's perfect

    5. its minecraft not skincraft to make a skin you dont even play the game
A skin could be seen as an extension of your personality in the game - you have the opportunity to be whoever you want in the world of minecraft; the first impression you make on a server when you meet other players is the skin that you wear.

A big youtuber called BdoubleO gave me a few shoutouts on his channel which led to me getting an increase of 10,000 subscribers - he didn't have to do that, even putting links in the description.

Do you realise how many requests these youtubers get from people like you? Asking for likes etc. If they liked every video, it would destroy their subscribers news feed.

Spend more time making quality videos instead of pestering people and you might actually get somewhere.

So, are pink squids as important as Royal squids? Does one have to have been born into royal Calamari blood to qualify as a royal squid?

Does the pink squid society have a dental plan?

The downvote option saw widespread use by trolls to mass downvote submissions with alt-accounts etc.

Even without this, if you dislike something; leave a comment with some constructive criticism on how you feel the person could improve their submission.

The downvote is a disgusting thing in a creative community and people have proven again and again that they only abuse systems such as these, which is why they are taken away.
