Zaralith pretty much covered everything in his reply on the first page, however, discussion is a good thing
The advertisements
As Zar pointed out; advertisements are targeted and are the only way to keep the site running - PMC is and always will be free, however servers and hosting companies have to be paid for
Derps
There will always be a share of derps in whatever community you visit - We've started implementing new rules such as only being able to post mods once you reach level 3; if you want early access to post your mod, you must message a super-moderator explaining the concept of your mod and how it would benefit the community.
This has seen a decrease in things such as viruses, spam mods which don't add any quality content, whilst encouraging mod creators to create quality content.
Important People
If people leave that's their own choice - everyone is treated fairly and the mod team is chosen because of their ability to be impartial = if someone breaks the rules, then they'll be dealt with in the same manner as a normal member, irrelevant of whether they have friends on the mod team or are a popular member.
If a person decides to delete all their content, then the only person they're hurting are their fans who enjoyed their submissions.
Experience Bar
The experience bar is generally a positive thing - it creates a drive to create high quality content and provides a form of reward to members who consistently upload content that the community enjoys.
If anyone is rude or considers themselves above others then that is a product of their upbringing and personality, not the XP bar.
Bonds
Community is the most important thing on this website - afterall, the tagline of PMC is 'a creative community fansite'
- Members are encouraged to join in discussions on the forums and meet new people on chat.
I can't think of one single person on the mod team who wouldn't be happy to message back to a member asking legitimate questions; the mod team was chosen not only to enforce the site rules but to help members out - if anyone is unsure about anything or needs advice, they can always message a member of the mod team.
If anyone feels an unjust moderation decision has been made, they can message the moderator who made the decision and they will happily explain why the decision was made - and if they're still unhappy, they can get in touch with Paril or Zaralith.
The mod team keeps in constant contact with each other and we're always looking for ways to improve the site and make member's experience on the site more enjoyable.
