Glowstone Seeds
for Minecraft 1.2.3-1.2.5 (works, tested)

  • This mod lets you farm glowstone
  • Seeds (or saplings, if you wish) can be crafted of glowstone dust and soulsand - recipe is in the screenshots
  • Seeds require to be planted UNDER netherrack, and can be planted in the Nether or lower than 15 blocks above bedrock.
  • They grow very slowly.
  • Once they decide to grow, they create large outgrowth of glowstone, similar to these found naturally.
  • This mod requires modloader.
  • The zip file is to be placed into .minecraft/mods.

Is this mod working for anyone? I just tried it and it caused my game to crash... I have modloader installed and I just followed the instructions on this page: downloaded the zip folder with this mod and placed it right in the mods folder under .minecraft... would this possibly work by opening up the download and placing each of the mod files inside the minecraft.jar file?

Yes i have installed modloader as the first mod and with magic luncher you don't have to delete the  meta-inf

I tsted it and it doesn't work. I tried everything. :(

Ummm don't delete your meta inf it slows down your minecraft rename it to something like dogmeat it helps speed up your computer I found this out when another user told me I tested it and it works.

This mod I believe is broken but it does make your computer faster and your minecraft will work even with a mod installed. i've been trying to tell everyone.

Right, I created an account specifically to tell you that you are completely wrong. If you change the name of a folder you are changing the path that leads to any files inside of the folder; therefore, any program wishing to use those files will not be able to find them. Changing the name of the folder is, in essence, the same thing as deleting it. And anyways, the only thing META-INF does is check to see if all of Minecraft's files are correct or if any are missing. If there are, it makes Minecraft update. This is why mods require you to delete it. It does NOT make Minecraft go any faster, so please stop spreading this around.

You good sir are wrong, I've been doing it for a while now I just change the name of the folder and it makes my minecraft faster, but you can call me wrong all you like I do it and it makes me faster you don't, I honestly don't care people can either try it for themselves and it not work to bad for them but it works for me and if I can help someone in it working for them well good for me thank you for your grand input though.

Do you even know what Meta Inf contains and does? It is JUST the Mojang manifest, which checks if all the files are the original vanilla files. If they are not, mods dont work. It is just an insurance for Mojang in case someones computer has problems from mods. It has no influence WHATSOEVER on the game speed itself. And renaming it is the same as deleting it, as the game ignores what it is not programmed to use. Whatever speed increase you got cant be it, probably placebo effect or something.

there needs to be a way to make it grow faster.
Bone meal brewed into a potion of healing makes a potion of growth. (10 seconds for potion to take effect)(can not add redstone or glowstone)
can make  trees grow twice as high.

make wheat drop 2 to 4 wheat (can grow naturally but takes forever)


can grow sugarcane


can grow cactus.


can grow grass twice as big as bonemeal


can grow glowstone seeds.

this needs to be made into a bukkit plugin! I've seen a lot of servers where the nether has been strip mined of all its glowstone and this would fix that problem :)

It has a bug when you are in a jungle, the jungle tree bark has the same texture as the seeds and you can see through them, can you please fix it, you are my modding hero and i know you can

On Windows: (you need 7zip)

  • press Windows Key+R, then type in %appdata%.
  • If you see a folder called Roaming, open it.
  • Look for a folder called .minecraft, and open it. (it may be hidden, so make sure that viewing hidden files is allowed.)
  • If you have Modloader, then with most mods, you can just drop the .zip into the folder called mods. (this is created during the first time you run minecraft with modloader.)
  • If you have not run minecraft since installing modloader, then open the bin folder, and right-click on minecraft.jar, and choose Open With>7-Zip File Manager or 7-Zip>Open Archive.
  • Then, drag the appropriate files into the minecraft.jar.
(MUCH faster: just use MCpatcher.)

On Linux: (no extra software required)

  • click the home folder
  • press CTRL-H (I think. If I'm wrong, then go to view>hidden files)
  • Open .minecraft
  • Open bin
  • right-click on minecraft.jar and choose open with archive manager.
  • drag the appropriate files into it.
  • Or, if you have Modloader, then with most mods, you can just drop the .zip into the folder called mods. (this is created during the first time you run minecraft with modloader.)
On macs: sorry. :(

its easy,just download the mod,download modloader,download something like winrar or 7zip,open modloader and the mod of mightypork with 7zip or winrar ,go to start,search for %appdata% open the roaming folder,open .minecraft,go to bin,open minecraft.jar with 7zip/winrar and drag all the things from modloader and mightypork's mod in the minecraft.jar folder,(make sure your minecraft is not open)then close evrything what is opened with 7zip or winrar and play minecraft,enjoy

EXCEPTION(BASIC):On mac u dont do that:[ur name],application support,minecraft,bin.Unzip the minecraft.jar using archive utility(v10.6 on 10.7 im not sure if not get a friend using 10.6 to do this) put the files of modloader from risu's page and then launch minecraft and close it once it loads to the mainscreen. go back to minecraft and put this mod into the folder mods
