NEWTON - gravity enabler
  • Adds gravity rules to most blocks
  • Lets you build sandcastles
  • Improves physics of falling blocks
  • Adds sound to falling sand and others

VIDEO SPOTLIGHT 1

VIDEO SPOTLIGHT 2

Rules for gravity

An4dyprCMAA2ax3.png

Block won't fall, if...

  • ...it is connected to two or more blocks by side
  • ...it is attached directly to a wall.

This lets you build almost all you could before, but the building process is much more challenging.

Exceptions!
  • Inventory blocks and non-cubes don't fall
  • Leaves and plants don't fall
  • Oak wood has special hanging rules to prevent corruption of big trees.
  • Sequoia wood uses special rules too - they let you chop whole sequoia from ground!
  • Soul Sand does not fall at all - use it for helper bridges

Wet sand? o_O
  • Craft water bucket with sand to get wet sand.
  • Or pour water onto dry sand.
  • Wet sand uses the hanging rules described above.
  • When wet sand dries up, it turns into "hard sand" and won't fall if the rules are still satisfied.
  • Yes, you're right. This came from SandCastles mod ;)

OPTIONS

.minecraft/config/NEWTON.cfg
You can disable falling for some blocks.

Installation

  • You need ModLoader.
  • All class files from the ZIP must go into minecraft.jar
  • Don't forget to delete META-INF
  • This mod modifies many core classes - it may not be compatible with some beginners' mods.

Classes modified:

  • RenderFallingSand
  • EntityFallingSand
  • Block
  • BlockSand
  • almost all other BlockXXX classes (only solid opaque blocks).

When you update it maybe the wet sand could make you sink into it since its wet and wont have you sink maybe?

Got linked to this mod from here:
http://www.planetminecraft.com/mod/fixxed-physixz/

But this seems SOOO much better! Unfortunately, the only mod I use is YogBox, so the wood thing in this is (no offense) no where near as good! YoxBox gets rid of the WHOLE tree, leaves and all! so maybe you could make the leaves break and fall to? maybe make the leaves fall slowly, 'cus they're, you know, leaves.

=== ANNOUNCEMENT ===

Minecraft is updatng too often. From now, I won't update my mods to
minor versions, only for stable ones, like were 1.6.5, 1.7.3, 1.8.1, 1.0.0,
1.1.0 and 1.2.3.

Updating all every two weeks is unbearable, I have other and better things to do.

MightyPork
Level 89

March 18, 2012, 12:31 am

theres no point in having key for that. In the prop file you can select for all blocks whether they should fall or not, and you never need to do this in-game.

i am sorry but i actually dont see the point of this xD
it makes building much more challenging, but why would you want that? :O

the good thing is the wet sand, but there have been made lots of that before.
Can someone explain me the point of this xD

Mcrmy139
Level 11
Journeyman Architect
March 16, 2012, 1:49 pm

so that way its more realistic, the wood falls so you dont have to go ALL the way up the tree, the sand hardens so you can build things, and it makes the mod all the same challenging. just like it said: Enabler. so if you feel in the mood for a challenge, you can enable it, if not, disable it. if you still dont see the point, ask MightyPork

If you are in creative mode, shouldn't the blocks you place not fall? I mean, it is great for a survival build, but in creative you should be able to build free of worry.

mayby nice idea: make it like hanging, so if you put 1 wood to a stone wall it wil fall, but if you cahnge the block in the wall to wood it dont fall, its hard to explain so i cant do it better

MightyPork

Originally I planned this, but it was too hard to use, so I decided to let the blocks to stick to each other.

I know the possibilities of this are unlikely due to a possible over complexity to make, but a mod that gave the player control and different items/ability/settings to govern the Quantum world... in simple terms, a mod that lets players control Quantum Physics (gravity, electromagnetism, nuclear force... how objects interact, friction)...

Okay, most of that stuff wouldn't even apply to Minecraft because the blocks... yeah, this was just some random idea that popped into mind because I saw this was gravity related XD

so many awesome mods, but im so frustrated on how difficult it can be to put in one mod and find out the modloader is bad. OR if i install the mod right (a furniture mod) and add another one (mo's creature) my furniture mod no longer works and i sped more time in the damned .jar than in game. why does my minecraft act like a baby being fed bad infant food when i try to install mods?
