Official hiatus announcement.

Please note, this mod is still a Work in Progress (WIP)!

This mod currents adds a variety of items such as randomly generated pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles (z to zoom), rocket launchers, and smgs, randomly generated shields (which go in the chest armor slot), randomly generated grenade mods (which go in boot armor slot, g to throw grenades by default), Marauders and Psychos of varying levels (temporarily removed in 1.6.2 for later overhaul, still available in 1.5.2 and the pre-release version), Eridium, and more from Borderlands to your singleplayer and multiplayer Minecraft experience.

You can find things such as weapons and shields in the combat tab in creative, and they have a small chance to be dropped by any mob on death. There's Vladof, Jakobs, you name it, each gaining abilities as presented in the game. For example, Jakobs weapons will fire as fast as you can click, appropriate Dahl weapons will burst fire, Pangolin shields will reduce hp for increased capacity, and Maliwan weapons will always be elemental! Experiment with different gun stats, and see what works best!

Full Feature List
  • Randomly generated pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles (z to use scope), rocket launchers, and smgs. (rarity from white to orange, varying manufacturers, sprites, damage, recoil, and more, while in hand ammo indicator appears at bottom left, can drop randomly from mobs, press r to reload)
  • Randomly generated shields. (blocks incoming damage, varying capacities, recharge delay, and more, shown over hp as blue hearts, goes in chest slot, can drop randomly from mobs)
  • Randomly generated grenade mods. (goes in boot slot, press g by default to throw, has random blast radius, fuse time, manufacturer, and type, which includes singularity, MIRV, transfusion, and more)
  • ECHO communicator. (shows enemy HP and name when looking at them when within reach, shows compass display at top of screen indicating nearby mobs, goes in legs slot, appears on players back right leg)
  • Marauders (spawns with random weapon, chance to spawn as shotgun midget)(Temporarily removed in 1.6.2, still in 1.5.2.)
  • Psychos (chance to spawn as midgets)(Temporarily removed in 1.6.2, still in 1.5.2.)
  • Eridium fragments, bars, blocks, and ores. (used to trade with villagers for weapons and shields, and to make the ECHO communicator, bars can drop randomly from mobs, ore will gen throughout world underground, some villagers will give you Eridium for old weapons)
  • Ammo pickups. (drops randomly from mobs)
  • Storage deck upgrades. (Increases ammo capacities, sold by villagers, can be found in chests, right click to use, must have a smaller max capacity than labeled to use)
  • Ammunition Vending Machine. (Craftable, you can use Eridium to buy ammo and one random grenade mod a day. Cannot be picked up once placed.)

Initial Planet Minecraft release!

Changes:
Added Ammunition Vending Machine. ECHO communicator compass now works correctly in all situations. Sniper Rifles are now only 100% when zoomed, as intended. Tamable mobs do not drop items from this mod. The gamerule doMobLoot now applies to items from this mod. Added option in properties to allow players to pick up ammo even when full, and added option in properties to allow bullets to break glass. Other small tweaks and changes. Psychos and Marauders temporarily removed for 1.6.2 version.

Just thought I'd give you all a heads up! Modjam 3 is just around the corner! You may know my You Will Die Mod was made during Modjam 2, and I definitely plan to participate again. If I end up streaming, be sure to follow me on Twitter to find out when. And I definitely plan to post the mod up on here afterwards.

EDIT: Modjam 3 is over! I didn't quite end up creating a new mod. Instead, I'll be combining content with my You Will Die Mod at some point. It was fun regardless!

An amazing mod, just simply fantastic! But of course just a little suggestion: Could you make a tool that let's us Create/Edit our own gun? If you could do that, this would be amazing! Also, when are the Psychos and Maurders coming back? I find them to be quite entertaining in firefights and hand-to-hand-combat! Anyway, I have to say again, great mod and I'll of course diamond + favorite :)

I definitely plan to make it much easier to edit the guns in the future, along with allowing for more specific options in the creative menu for manufacturer, gun type, etc.

Psychos and marauders are currently reavailble in the pre-release, but I hope to get them out in the main release soon.

Don't mean to but in like this but dude, it's a freaking mod that runs off forge and forge isn't even updated yet. Plus, it's not like you can just press a button to update it, although I don't make mods, I can go off on a limb and guess they're pretty hard to make and update ok? When forge is updated and it's been a few weeks or something ask then, otherwise just be patient like me :)

1.7.2 won't be available any time soon, for this mod or any other. MCP and Forge are nowhere near done making their transition, so us mod makers will just have to wait.

The next update for this, however, for 1.6.4, is still in the works. But as of a month ago, those who'd like to try pre-releases can find them under the official minecraft forums thread, under the pre-release section, or here. The pre-release will be buggy however, and may not have completed features, but will be updated more often.

I'm considering it! I'm adding in some rare weapon effects for the next update, things like smgs with transfusion pellets rather than bullets, and etc. So cyan might be a good way to distinguish them. Something I'd also like to do in the future it e-tech weapons, but I'll probably finish other features first.

Sorry, haven't kept up on Planet Minecraft much the past week or so. I definitely suggest keeping an eye on the official Minecraft Forums thread for up to date info, and I occasionally tweet my progress on Twitter @xFyreStorm!

EDIT: I've added a pre-release section to the MC Forums post for those who'd like to help out bugfixing and tweaking the latest. It's not for everyone, though, it contains bugs and isn't feature complete. It doesn't have all that many changes as well.

It seems to happen to other forge mods occasionally as well, and I'm lead to believe it's more of a Forge/Optifine problem rather than a problem with the mods themselves. If I find anything though, it will be fixed.[/size]

Not sure what you mean. If you mean for a texture pack, feel free, although some of the things I've done are still a bit iffy and still haven't fixed after the texture change in 1.6 (mainly the _sprites and _icons .pngs). If you mean for the official sprites, not for the moment, still working on features before looks. :P

try to make a workbench type block(only accessible in creative) to make a custom gun with features like damage,color/rarity,weapon type,element,gun color and gun name. that would be AWSOME !!!! and same with sheilds and g-mods

Are you using any other mods that effect GUI, and does changing the window size,GUI scale, ortoggling fullscreen effect anything? I just checked it myself, and I can't seem to make it do anything out of the ordinary.

I'll update when the update's done. I don't get paid to make these, I just do them in my free time. As much as I'd like to have already been done with it so I can move on to other things, there just hasn't been the time. I've gotten some of the new features done so far, but not all.

Feel free to try the 1.5.2 version if you want to fight psychos and marauders, especially since the new Minecraft launcher lets you play old versions.

Texture packs should work fine with this mod, but if you're asking if this mod has any texture packs, then not that I know of, I've yet to be contacted by anyone who's wanted to do one.

And I can't say, it all depends on how much time I get to work on it, because, as I've said, these mods aren't the only thing I work on.

I cant find psyco and the other mob in creative mode. And when mobs drop amo i can pick it up but its not in my invetory.

Ammo isn't an item, it's just added to a stat that can be seen while holding a weapon, and can only be picked up while that number is below max. (SDUs can increase max ammo capacity per weapon type)

And Psychos and Marauders were temporarily removed for 1.6.2, as stated before, and will be back in the next update. They're still in the 1.5.2 version, however.

Iron level and below, but they aren't all that common, and you'll usually only see one or two together, so you have to keep an eye out.

Making a mod can be quite a lengthy process at times. I suggest looking up tutorials on Google for getting started. I don't totally have the time to list and link everything out since it's pretty late here, so for the moment I'll PM you a list of things I personally use since I still have it from someone else who asked a similar question.

But now that you mention it, I think I might make a basic modding tutorial in the future, for at least getting everything set up.

Sorry that I didn't really answer your question, and I realize that. :P

Still working on the main features for the next update, but it's just been a bit slow due to having to work on other projects as well.

The main features will be Weapon Vending Machines, psychos and marauders back in 1.6.2, and other small things I've mentioned below.

I'll definitely try to make it worth the wait though.

Can I still find guns regardless if there isn't any psychos and marauders? I can only find ammunition so far. But cool mod though!

Yea, any mob will drop them, and you can also find them inside chests.

Hi, I'm trying to use this mod on a multiplayer server and the items from this mod just disappear if I try to use them, I followed the instructions for installation and went as far as re-downloading, also I tried exporting my smp map to singleplayer and the mod works great there, was just wondering if anyone knew of a fix for this, TY

Are you using any other mods? If so, make sure there's no ID conflicts or anything. Otherwise, I'm not sure, I've never experienced this problem before. I'll look in to it though.

Only using Infernal mobs with it, so I made it so only the borderlands mod was running and restarted my server, I tested this theory with no luck it still acts the same as when I had Infernal mobs installed I would be more then happy to put up a stream on twitch if you'd like to personally see whats happening lmk, TY

Not 100%, because I've yet to decide if I want to include certain features, but weapon vending machines for sure, and psychos and marauders for sure, along with some new grenade/weapon/shield effects and various tweaks. Class mods may make it in for the fourth and final armor slot, but it depends how far I get with them before I decide to release.

And, like I said, there are other things, but I'm not sure if I want to do some of them just yet.
