ExampleGamer did a 'mod look' of this mod, to explain its features(Keep in mind that was from update 2, so new stuff has been added into the game):

This mod is going to add alot of new stuff into the game, along with some new functions and other good stuff. It is focused around crystals and gems, hence the name; World of GemCraft. Im going to add alot of stuff, so check out the "planned" section below!

Keep in mind that this is in a REALLY early stage, and that the texture work is no where near complete.

The reason why im uploading this so early, is to get some feedback, and let you test some of the features that i have added, to see if you can find any bugs.

If you have any ideas, or if you manage to make a texture for something, that you like, dont be afraid of contacting me. I will gladly check it out, and credit you for it if i use it!

Teleportation(Adding videos to show how everything works).
- To be able to teleport, you will need a teleportation device(block) and a teleportation crystal(Item). when you have placed down the teleportation device, you just use the crystal to teleport to wherever your device is placed.

Blocks that increase your movement speed when you walk on them.
New Crystal ore, that you can mine for crystals, then turn them into refined crystals.
Gems that will be used to improve armor and weapons. Worsk with red, purple and yellow gem so far.

GEM PROPERTIES:
Weapons:
RED - adds damage - 10% chance to set target on fire - 500% damage if you hit a target that is on fire.
GREEN - 25% chance to cause 250% damage.
YELLOW - more durability.
PURPLE - get xp whenever you hit a mob.

Pickaxe:
RED - mines through blocks faster.
GREEN - 50% chance to get an extra ore/item when mining them.
YELLOW - more durability.
PURPLE - for each block you mine, the pick charges up with dark matter, when its fully charged, you right click to absorb it to gain experience.

Axe:
RED - Destroys tree blocks faster,
GREEN - Cuts more than one block. 5 up and 5 down from the wood block you destroyed.
YELLOW - more durability.
PURPLE - chance to get some xp whenever you destroy a wood block.

Shovel:
RED - Faster digging
GREEN - Right click to clear a big area,
YELLOW - more durability.
PURPLE - Get xp for every 7th block you destroy.

Crystal armor, weapon and tools are crafted as you would with iron, but with refined crystals instead.
