The British Rail Class 92 Electric Locomotive is a dual voltage Co-Co configuration locomotive built by Brush Traction and Asea Brown Boveri (ABB Rail) at Loughborough between 1993 and 1996. The Class 92 enabled the use of both overhead power and the third rail DC system and was built for freight operations through the Channel Tunnel and beyond. In all, 46 Class 92 locomotives were built and are currently operated by DB Cargo UK and GB Railfreight/Europorte 2. Exported locomotives are operated by DB Cargo Bulgaria and Transagent Rail Croatia. Previous operators include British Rail, EWS, Stobart Rail and SNCF.
