>This is Captain Bhavika Don Sing of the 1983G Heron callsign Big Mama.
>We are 23 days into the mass emigration of Earth to the far exoplanet XS5495.
>Our payload manifest follows :
>
>treated tree logs of varying origin - 56 tons
>filtered mineral water - 120 tons
>soil compost soil earth mixture - 80 tons
>hard stones and boulders - 65 tons
>preserved salted meat supplies - 200 pounds

>Now that formalities are out of the way, I'm going to run down current events and a short history
>lesson. Originally I would never have began a diary in a million years, especially as a 47 year old
>woman, but recently I've been getting reports from all over the ship of failing systems and shakey
>construction. I reported it to Central 6 days ago and yesterday I got their Com suggesting I start
>this thing to log any happenings and issues I hear of. "For analytical purposes," they said. Frankly,
>I'm certain they know how hurridly we threw this ship together before takeoff 24 days ago and are
>worried it's just going to fall apart in space, leaving this intimate little log of mine for them to pour
>over in their comfy research center before they send it off to a museum (after censoring out
>anything speaking ill of them of course). If you're reading this, Jerry, don't worry. I don't blame you
>for anything that will or won't happen in the coming 2 years. Well I guess it's time for that history
>lesson I promised you. Hoping I forgot hmm? Well too bad, here we go. The year is 2045 (not the
>current year, the year of my story, now hush), we as a species have dominated Earth, not entirely
>to our benefit. We have depleted our natural resources, including but certainly not limited to:
>natural gases, underground water supplies, mineral supplies, and land. I would like to write that
>everyone got together and held hands and sang kumbaya to build ships to save humanity. But
>history is not what we want it to be, it is what it was, and that's messy. War. World war. The
>fourth world war to be exact. I'll spare you the details and just get to the end of it: everyone lost.
>Bombs flew, bombs blew up. Entire countries blew up. Cities blew up. People blew up. After the
>cinders grew cold, humanity rose above it all to pool whatever we could scavenge as a collective.
>The smartest of us formed Central, a makeshift government resembling a labor union more than
>a big brother of the old world. After another year or so, we launched our mass effort to colonize
>the far reaches of space. And I might not live to see it out, a pity huh? Well I just got myself down
>and the crew is getting antsy without leadership, so I'm signing off, have a good one. May the
>spaghetti monster see us through this. That's one of the gods of the old world if you're too young
>to get the reference. Gods I'm having too much fun with this thing.

Hey everyone, so this is a spaceship I built for the theme of the contest. I tried to avoid just making it a big iron plane with an unoriginal design, so I came up with this. It has a lot of working parts and a butt load of command blocks in the walls. It isn't very big but I did it all by hand with very minimal use of world edit. The lore bit I wrote above is just a little bit of world-building I felt I owed to the project. Here's a video on youtube showcasing the outside: CLICK HERE

Notes on exploring the map:
Things may lag a bit, if they do, I recommend turning down smooth lighting or even just disabling command blocks. Note that disabling command blocks will break most contraptions until they are re-enabled.
The ship is the entirety of the map, don't go flying off into the void expecting something else.
The main cargo door is only accessible from inside the ship, so if you find yourself stuck outside, just break through the door, it will fix itself upon opening or closing by means of the buttons inside.
