Germes Class Frigate
Designed in concert with the Poyezdka class destroyer the Germes class frigate used many of the same components to keep prices low. Designated as laser frigates they were intended as long range escorts for civilian and larger warships.
FFL-3 Selena was destroyed in 2175 attempting to divert the asteroid attack by using its engine to push the asteroid off course, sadly damage sustained on approach made her unable to slow her approach and she impacted the surface of the asteroid at considerable speed with the loss of all hands.
After the collapse of the Russian Federation in 2178 the remaining ships shared the fate of their larger cousins, falling into the hands of various factions. Germes and Arov left in Lunar orbit where the former would be commandeered by pirates and the ladder would be salvaged and used for private security operations. Afrodita became part of the Ceres defense fleet along with the larger DDP-4 Sostoyaniye. Zevs, Kron, Uran, and Poseydon would join the Martian Self Defense Force in 2189. Kron would be cannibalized for parts to repair and maintain the other three vessels. Zevs would have to be scrapped after receiving heavy damage during a skirmish near Mars-Sun L5 in 2228.
