Though I have a bad habit of starting projects & not finishing them, I've finally found a project I can really sink my teeth into.
First & foremost, I'll disclaim the obvious: Yes, the bow of the ship is modeled after the hull of Octavia700's Izumo-Class starship (http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/loosely-based-on-the-izumo-class-ship-from-gundam/). In fact, my original intent was to recreate said starship & update it, with proper curves & whatnot, just for the sake of doing so. However, I found that the original was... well, lacking, so I scrapped the idea after I finished the first catapult & turret.

I still found that I liked the scale & shape of the original Izumo hull, so I decided to make a second one, this time oddly-spaced & curved a bit differently. This in turn led to recreating the forward turrets, until I was satisfied that the detailing was appropriate. Once I had the two hulls side by side, I was struck with the inspiration to create a full, dual catapult starship, which is what I'm in the process of. Being the Gundam nut I am, I began looking for scaled mobile suit designs, whereupon I found these gems, the Compact Mobile Suits by tmanchua (http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/compact-mech-design/). After rebuilding said design, and adding my own sleek touches, I found myself with a variable mobile suit design no more than 8 block high. Thus, the mechs you see above. The catapults of the Izumo-class hulls were lengthened & moved further apart to accomodate these mechs.







Now that those references & citations are out of the way, on to my own schpeal.



This is the Valkyrie, the trump card of the Earth Alliance. A massive battleship in its own class, this baby's primary mobile suit hangar can accomadate up to a total of TEN Valkyrie-exclusive mobile suits, each modeled in functionality/versatility after the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam. A new generation of Striker packs has been introduced as well to aid this elite vanguard of metalic monsters- the Comet Series (More info to come).

Featuring twin catapults, two non-retractable "Gottfried Mk.71" 225 cm High-Energy Beam Cannons, and a variety of other weapons (some larger than others), the Valkyrie is capable of halting nearly any assault on its comrades & reversing the flow of battle entirely.
