K2 Black Panther Main Battle Tank
Country of Origin: South Korea
Operator(s): Republic of Korea Army
Statistics
Top speed: 43 mph (70 km/h)
Range: 280 mi (450 km)
Weight: 60.2761 tons (55 tonnes)
Cannon: Rheinmetall 120mm L/55 Smoothbore

Summary
The M48 patton was used by South Korea, but was obsolete compared to modern main battle tanks. This led to the development of the K2 black panther, which was produced in 2013 and entered service in 2014. It had an autoloader, like the AMX-56 leclerc. The K2 also had many other features, including controllable suspension which allowed the tank to "lean","stand",and "sit", and "kneel", snorkel system, explosive reactive armor, visual and infared screening smoke, and a radar warning receiver.
Replacement(s)
A K2 PIP is planned to have non-explosive reactive armor.
