Land On Air is just a superflat map, but there has been some messing around with the presets. Everything is on air, and is a challenge the get to. Use the Potions wisely, or you will regret it. Having to build everywhere, and losing the strength within the potion.
If you want to make a land on air of your own, then do the fallowing:
1) Select "Create new world"
2) Click "more world options"
3) Make the World Type superflat
4) Click "Customize"
5) Click "Presets"
6) Select "Tunnelers' Dream"
7) Click "Use Preset"
8) Remove the fallowing layers: Grass, Dirt, Stone

The potions in the starter chest are made with the Too Many Items Mod. You can download it here: http://www.minecraftpost.com/too-many-items-mod-1-4-6-download/ . It is updated to 1.5.2, enjoy.If you want to make a land on air of your own, then do the fallowing:
