Recommended Resource Pack: Conquest
Got bored again, so I came out with an enlarged version of my longship design. It's 6 blocks longer making it 53 in total and, while that may not sound like much, those are 6 blocks where it counts, making the whole design feel a lot roomier. The yard uses the same design as for my first project, although the mast is slightly taller, giving it around 100 square feet more canvas. Once again I have included three variants: war, trade and de-rigged.
I've been coming up with a new colour scheme and shield design for each new longship and I have mixed feelings for the flames colour on this one. While I do love the warm way the colours work together, I feel like the traditional fabric stripes on the sail, while accurate(ish) to period sail construction seem a bit tame for this scheme. I'm considering doing a re-made version with a flame pattern on the sails. I decided to do the oars at the end of their sweep in this design, rather than still in the water, but, overall, I definitely prefer the effects of the oars in their dipped position- again, something I might go back and change one day.
Go ahead and download the schematic and use it for whatever you like; use it in your map, blow it up, stick copies all over your world on 200 block high dirt towers for all it care, just make sure you give me credit, because...
