The Giuseppe Garibaldi was a light cruiser of the Duca degli Abruzzi-Class, itself the 5th sub-class of the Condottieri-Class cruisers of the Regia Marina. She was launched in 1936 and completed in 1937 together with her sistership the Luigi di Savoia Duca degli Abruzzi. She saw extensive service throughout the Second World War both under the Axis powers and later the Allies after the Italian Armistice of 1943. After the War she entered service with the newly founded Marina Militare and underwent an extensive refit and was converted into a missile cruiser between 1957 and 1961. She was de-commissioned in 1971 and later scrapped in 1978.
