Back at it again with another building contest entry that I put together during an extremely busy time in my life. I couldn't turn this one down though, since I love putting together contemporary buildings. This definitely pushed the limits of my fairly simple building style and my extremely limited interior decoration skills. I still had a lot of fun doing it, though!
A quick overview of each of the six buildings, and some of the thought process that went into them:
1x1: Cafe
Fairly self-explanatory. Just a small cafe.
2x1: Apartment Building
I had originally intended for there to be retail space on the bottom two floors of this building, but then I developed this vision of a futuristic city where they fit as much green space as possible in between all of the buildings. As a result, I turned the bottom of these apartments into a two-story park space. There's not actually a way to get up into the apartments, which isn't particularly realistic, but I decided not to try and shove something in awkwardly.
1x2: Converted Warehouse
This is actually my second attempt at a building here. My first one, while cool-looking, was awkwardly shaped and difficult to build an interior for. I was inspired by a local market that is built into an old paper factory and is getting a shiny new addition "soon". I've always liked contemporary-looking additions to old buildings, and I tried to fit that in here. The green roof was a continuation of the eco-city theme I developed halfway through.
2x2: Converted Parking Garage
I'm definitely happy with how this one turned out, though I don't know if it actually looks like a former parking garage. It definitely did at first, but then I got a little carried away. I decided to put this in the "most common" plot because parking garages are everywhere (at least where I live), and I like to think that in the future, we might put them to better use.
1x3: Community Garden
I think this is the only one that became exactly what I envisioned. It actually grew out of an idea I had for the 2x2 plot that didn't end up working out as I had hoped. I imagined these as being those large metal shipping containers that have been converted into buildings.
2x3: Amphitheater
I don't actually know how this one happened. I had a completely different vision in mind when I started building this, but somewhere along the way, it became this. I'm certainly not complaining though, as I'm quite pleased with how good it looks given its relative simplicity.

My favourite exterior of the builds is the Converted Parking Garage, though I'm a little split because the others seem to hold their candles pretty well to it, and my favourite interior is the Cafe for sure as it's great. Nice job. :)
