I miss this old style, when you built your house with wool and not snow.

What is the resource pack you are using? Or are you using shaders?

nice house. Try using Flows HD 128x resource pack, it will bring more contrast out of the texture of the house. Also try to add more block variation to your builds. add some cobblestone and wood to the walls of the house, it will look fantastic. you have the right shape down its just you need more variation in your pallete. :-)
