Level 56 : Grandmaster Technomancer
Some of you might know it as "The castle used in Cube Land".
It is bigger, better thought out and more up to date.
This project is very much work in progress and is far from complete.
Please note that it is not possible at the moment to get everywhere (or even anywhere) in the castle without flying.
Here is a list of stuff available (not finished):
- Throne room
- One part of the lower class homes
- Walls and towers (very important to have in a castle)
Current focus: Fleshing out the surface of the castle.
And the list of stuff to be added:
- Jousting area
- Bow practice area
- Great dining hall
- Bathing area
- Loads of secret passages!
- Main Gates
- Retractable bridge

Q: Can I use this or the old castle on my server?
A: Yes, you can. But if anyone asks who built it, you have to be thruthful.
Q: Did you build all this yourself?
A: No, see the credits for the people that helped me build this.
Q: Did you build all this by hand?
A: No, I used a few tools.
Q: Did you know your previous castle was used in Cube Land?
A: Yes, Slamacow asked me for permission to use it.
Q: What tools did you use to build it then?
A: Mainly MCEdit for large scale editing and Zombe's modpack for added movement freedom. But I used Daedalus to generate the labyrinth and Spritecraft to turn the generated image into a schematic.
Q: Can I make a suggestion for this project?
A: Sure, just post a comment.
Q: I want to help build, can I join your server?
A: PM me with a link to examples of stuff you've built and I'll let you know whether or not you can join.
Q: What kind of examples should I send?
A: Anything ingame. Buildings, furniture, redstone, pixel art, statues, traps, ways of hiding secrets, anything you can think of. Just as long as it's ingame.

While viewing, please keep in mind the new version is still very much a work in progress and needs a lot of decoration (and secret passages) before I'll upload it as the main.
All the current underground rooms will be relocated inside the new castle.
Also I've recorded a few hours of me building, I'm making it into a sped up version and will release it on Youtube for those who are interested.

I've run into the limitations of the dimensions of my castle once to often, now it has to become bigger.
The new version will become what I had in mind for the castle long ago. Back then I was limited by the height limit. Now I think the ceiling is high enough to let me build to my hearts contempt.
When the new version is fleshed out enough I will replace the world save of this version.
I'll keep you posted on the progress.

I haven't been able to properly work on this project lately and it won't be getting any better any time soon.
I'm in the final year of college and things have gotten a little hectic.
This does NOT mean I've stopped working on this project altogether, on the contrary, I'll do my best to keep this project alive AND up to date.
Especially that last part is hard, every update to the Minecraft terrain generation is like a kick to the knickers because of all the work it'll require to transport the castle and it's current surroundings to a new map.
Another issue is gonna be to update the castle to make use of the new height limit.
I might even go as far as to make a completely new iteration on the castle and link everything that's currently underground to it.
This means you'll have to say goodbye to the current castle and its size, cause the new one will be bigger and will have some spare room for contraptions where I deem it necessary.
So expect a long silence after the 1.2 update to Minecraft. I'll be giving bits of information when asked though.
tl;dr I'm planning to rebuild most of the castle after 1.2 comes out!

For those interested, here's a screenshot from minutor in which you can see my progress so far. It's in night view, that way the places of interest stand out more!

There's been a lot of planning and a lot of terraforming.
The lit up areas are places where I've already started building roads, bridges, fences, scenery, towers and other works.
Most of the terraforming so far has been happening directly north of the castle.
Now most of the planning is out of the way, I'll spend more time building.
Also from this moment I'll post regular updates on my progress here. The download will not be updated until I (mostly) finish the city though.

Let me sum up the changes for you:
- New map! now the castle is located in a 1.0.0 map! Took a lot of time to get a good spot.
- integration with the map has somewhat degraded because I spent little time making it all look natural.
- 3 new secret passages.
- for those interested, there is a small area I dedicated to trying stuff out. Dig out the clay gate with the signs in the port and see if you can make it more efficient.
- lighthouse moved to new position to give it a purpose in the new map.
- some minor aesthetic improvements.
- improved lightning in the library, no longer will you be bothered by the void mists while reading!
- added an enchantment table to the library, quite easy to find but not in plain sight.
- had to reroute a secret passage that led out of the castle.
- started replacing beds (I hope to have replaced them all in the next update).
- sank the entire port with 1 block to make the water level match that of the new map
- made the monster harvester enderman proof.
- fixed several cases of enderman grief

The cobblestone blocks of the castle have been replaced by the corresponding stone brick blocks.
The arena has been updated with the new iron bars block.
I got rid of the boring flat stone ground in the statue garden and replaced it by desert. this way it also fits the natural look of the connecting hallway better.
Gave the church some extra lights because the light doesn't go through stairs anymore.
Added a new secret passage or two as I do with every update of the castle.
The pictures of the new look will be posted when I get to it.

I've started adjusting the castle to make it profit from the changes the 1.8 patch brought.
A library was added, you really should check it out!
started making rooms better looking, straight rectangles only last so long before getting ugly.
Added a new secret passage.
Added a new building to the port.
Set the progress on PMC to 95%!
Had a great vacation, how about you guys? (and girls maybe?... don't know, do girls like castles? they should at least like the gardens and scenery and stuff)

I added a secret passage, underground garden, lighthouse and a (underground) bathhouse.
The next update wont be for a while since vacation is around the corner, unless there is internet at the lodge of course.
Could someone please comment on the repairs and how to make it look better?

Not as much as I would like to get done in such a long time, but I've got: a computer virus (making my OS crash and unable to start or repair), tests, games besides Minecraft (in this case Dante's inferno for the PS3), several family party's, a sudden interest in SMP (Noobstown specifically), lots of projects at school, to give the internship a finishing touch and besides all that it was a pain to place the new secret passages because I don't want to modify the existing rooms too badly.
Well the new hallways are the most noticeable change, you might want to find the new secret passages, but I'd really like to know when someone finds the secret vault.
Also credits to Salamislim for giving me the idea of windows and themed hallways, it really helps liven the place up.

First: I've been really busy with other things going on.
Second: it's a BIG update!
The castle has been transferred to a new world using the "Plains" seed to generate a terrain that suits the castle and allows for a port.
A port? Yes! A port! And a large one too at that.
It is not fully built yet but I will not withhold it from you any longer.
Besides the port there is now a monster harvester too, it's in the center of the castle under the main staircase so it will generate monsters as long as you're in the castle (because I've secured the whole castle grounds so no monsters can spawn in locations I don't want them to) and it has some storage close by.
Let me know your thoughts on the port so I can improve it.
Also thanks to dimondmine2n for providing me with a list of things to built, I was beginning to run out of ideas.

Also I have made the outer wall a tad more impressive with towers (catapults atop the towers) and an interior.
And I've made the first step to making an entrance for the military, that way they wont have to go through the throne room if they are to enter or leave the castle :P

I am using building, fly and safe.
Building allows for quick building.
Fly lets you fly.
Safe marks the places where aggressive mobs can spawn.
With these three I went around making sure there will be no spawning of aggressive mobs where there isn't supposed to be any.
I also made a small art garden which took me way longer than it was supposed to take.
Next I'll add an arena of some sorts and make sure the outermost wall gets some attention.
And I'll probably update the screenshots too.

The amount of time I have for playing games (mostly Minecraft) is reduced to about a third...
I am just gonna try about 2 times as hard to get things done but it still means updates are gonna be slow.
The new parts will probably be ready by Monday, so keep an eye out for this log if you're interested!

I fixed holes, walkways, random floating blocks and the pools of water that were all scattered about.
I changed the staircase to use wooden half-steps.
I added a prison, royal quarters, archery ranges, barracks, extra walkways and doors that make getting from point A to B easier and more instinctive.
I plan to make a wine cellar, guest chambers and quarters for the staff within a week.
In the future i probably will make a new interior for the towers, underground garden, mob spawning area, bank, tomb, artificial cave and more secret passages.
I have updated the schematic and will release a link to the world map file within 2 weeks.
It contains a lot of other projects so even if you do not care for the castle it will be worthwhile to check out.
