My first attempt at an adventure map, It is probably still a bit buggy and I probably made a lot of noob errors, but gimmie a break it's my first one =D.

Oh also, please tell me whether you think I should continue extending this map, or if I should just start a totally different project.

Most of it was made purely by hand in creative mode when mods hadn't been updated yet.

Should I extend the map to keep you in it for longer, or should i just try a different map from the beginning?

Very good for a first attempt, but I think that more brain puzzles, a story and a longer time in the map would improve the experience. But on a whole, I thought it was good.
