- Custom Trees - 17 custom built trees built to scale, based off Native Chinese trees found on wikipedia
Version 1.1
- 1845 Signature Clouds - Swirling clouds of snow that are tileable for your Asian projects. These were designed by a project volunteer named Clarvel.
- Statue of Bohtauri -A not so serious schematic, have a statue of me lying down. You can see this in my tomb on the project map (hmm, maybe im a zombie?)
- Spirit Tower - A signature building in the ming tombs to help lead the spirits of dead emperors to heaven. Simple but puuuurty!
- Changling Tomb Treasure Building - A landmark building in the project for its detail and awe inspiring looks. Now you can own it today :)

Version 1.0
- Tiao Tian Temple - One of the few circular building in project 1845 it is used to worship the heavens for the common folk in Beijing.
- 1845 Visitors Center - The starting point for any traveler for any visitor to the project on the server.
- Corner Tower of Inner Palace - The corner tower with 7 separate roofs is a piece of unique construction in the project.
- Hall of the Ancestors -The largest single building in the Schematics pack. This was used by the emperor to worship his ancestors inside the Forbidden City
- Lead Arrchitects Residence - You can now live in the house the lead architect and curator of the project map lives in.
- Silk Workshops Main Hall - This empty building is small and unique enough to be in the pack if you want a small central meeting place for people or to be used however you want.

     Learn About Project 1845
Project 1845 in a nutshell is a world first open-source map of ancient Chinese landmarks in and around Beijing City From Ming - Qing dynasties. Major projects as part of the bigger project include:
  • 1:1 scale replica of the ENTIRE Beijing City back in 1750
  • 1:1 scale replica of the Forbidden City back in 1750
  • 1:1 scale replica of Ming Dynasty Tombs 1368 - 1641
  • 1:1 scale replica of Summer Palace in 1911
  • 1:1 scale replica of Yuanmingyuan 1760 - 1901
This entire project is eligible to become a world record once completed at the largest 1:1 scale replica user-built building project in the entire sandbox game genre. 

Please take note that almost all major landmarks on themselves are world-first 1:1 scale builds in Minecraft at least, due to complexity and lack of simple schematics.

 There is more to the project than just building a Minecraft map. We are also porting it into MinecraftEDU to teach people about history, language and geography. Also the project is helping promote the original rare map and to help in its restoration process so more people can enjoy this unique piece of history which has been hidden from the public for centuries.
 We are attempting a world record with it becoming the largest single 1:1 scale replica build project in the entire sandbox game genre which has been confirmed to be a legit world record with the Guinness world record books. This has been confirmed by Guinness but it isn't our main aim of the project.
 The entire project is fully downloadable by everyone and the download is updated monthly. You can download the latest snapshot at the Minecraft World Save button and search for previous worldsave snapshots.

Also Shown names in Japanese and English Pinyin with explanations of major landmarks, helping bridge the gap between languages. This map has not been in publication for over 250 years and it is time for everyone to have an opportunity to see this moment of history

 You can now help out the project without slaving over the blocks in-game. We run the main construction on a server and donation money will be used to help keep the server reachable and help Bohtauri get research material to keep building accuracy up to keep standards high enough to keep the project eligible for the Guinness World Record. Or donate if you want to donate some cash as thanks for having an awesome time visiting the project and want to help support its future.  
 This doesn't mean the project is in trouble yet, this is to help the project and project leader be able to create an even more epic experience for users and supporters of Project 1845.

This is a list of questions i Regularly have to attend to, hopefully this will reduce the questions asked somwhat.
How Can I Help Build?
You cannot physically help the project directly at the moment unless you have proven your skills to Bohtauri. We are building a school to help teach people how to build for the project, once that is done we will start taking more volunteers more frequently.

Can You Check My Project?
If I checked everything or went to visit everything players asked, Project 1845 will never be completed, please dont be offended if I say no.

Who Runs Project 1845?
Bohtauri is founder, lead architect and has single handedly built a majority of the project

Hang On, This Isnt Legit?

The Forbidden City, Centerpiece of Project 1845, containing 4.2 Million blocks was built 100% legit and was the slowest time of construction. The rest of the project will contain 2.096 Billion Blocks and will be spawned blocks. A minority of it will be worldedited but over 600,000 buildings will be unique making worldedit for a large majority of the entire project impossible to use. I have never claimed the project is done 100% legit and here is why:

If we did the ENTIRE project 1845 100% legit then we will need 15 users working on the project 40 hours a week EACH for 7 days a week for 95 years. Now, do you call spawned blocks cheating? no, making this legit will take over a century. This would be literally  condemning people to work more than an entire lifetime to build it legit, call spawned items cheating on the project and this is why I will ban you, I don't have patience anymore for sh*t stirring.

"1845" is in the 19th Century
"1845" in "project 1845" has nothing to do with a year. Its main section, Beijing City is based off a map dated to 1750 which is the 18th century.

and yes, project 1845 is composed of at least 4 independent projects dating from 1600 - 1945.

Worldguard, Worldedit (client and server side), Zombe modpack. Short and sweet :)

Your Project is Too Big, It Keeps Crashing my Minecraft!
This is not a problem caused by Project 1845. If you are not using 64-bit java 7 then your minecraft is prone to crash more when playing any map. Reduce your view distance and/or increase your RAM allowance to java. (google has how-to's for this)

Changes:
  • All walls inside the Forbidden City section have been renovated from Beta 1.6 content to 1.4.7 content.
  • Work has started on Gulou Hutong district
  • Volunteer University has several major sections including, farmland, trees, roofing, interior decorating.
  • 7000th Diamond on Planet Minecraft. First page and first project in all of Planet Minecraft to reach this milestone!
Were also planning to start making a monthly snapshot video explaining what has changed since the last download. Expect an April video in the next week or two.

A new snapshot for March is released. It can be run in Patch 1.4 and 1.5

It has also been shrunk a lot more. no longer 200mb+ download but less than 50mb now.

It can still be uncompressed by any Operating system. No uncompression software is required like winzip, stuffit or winrar. Just Right Click > Extract/Unpack!!

Once uncompressed it is no longer 2.5gb but a small 480mb. No content has been lost, this has been a back-end optimization to reduce download size.

Our new download system derped all over the place and started block people from downloading it, we have returned to sourceforge for now. Download happily.

Remember. Dont be afraid of downloading such a big map. its been tested and if you can run minecraft, it will run this map. It isnt as laggy as some projects out there like the survival games maps.

February's snapshot has been uploaded and ready for public download. We have fixed the map size error and the download is a cool 90mb smaller. Enjoy :)

Patch 1.5 Changes

In preparation to patch 1.5 coming out to Minecraft we have these changes planned.
  • You will be able to download the map, texturepack and installation instructions all in one place.
  • We will be leaving sourceforge and joining mediafire to make it easier to download
  • New telelport system that will work in singleplayer will be completed in-game
  • A new website of information will be made live to help players.

Yes, January's snapshot is uploaded. this took so long partly because I forgot and that its much larger. Instead of 95mb in size and expands to 2.2gb it is 271mb downloaded and 4.5gb expanded.

Dont worry about lag though, if your computer has minecraft, it can play this map it just might take a while to get it set up..

The project has reached 49 Millionth Block!!

I have also added a detailed image of the railway loop through the project. not many visitors know about it and where it goes. Yes, its over 6 hours long already. But most of the interesting stuff is in the first 40 minutes. There is a small version viewable on the PMC page and a HD version that you can look at on the projects facebook page.

Bohtauri is now running a livestream channel. You can check out how I build and renovates parts. Once I improve my livestream skills there will be far more interesting ones. I only just learnt how to control the microphone lol. But below is a renovation video of a section of the Forbidden City (which is why worldedit is used a lot, and after an hour i only added approx 3-400 new blocks to the project... a.k.a slow progress).

The tbz file format is a compressed file format like zip and rar but you dont need any software to unzip it. Normal windows and osx and linux can uncompress them natively

If you read about this project, they have a small number of builders. You can't expect them to finish this in 2 years.The Forbidden City,Centerpiece of Project 1845, containing 4.2 Million blocks was built 100% legit and was the slowest time of construction. after one year we were at 1.8% complete
after two years we will be at ~4.5%
after three years we will be at ~12%


as you can see, there is a pattern and things will slowly be built faster and faster. we are still on track to finish far far less than 30 years. only 9 months ago ppl told me in crazy that its gonna take 50 years and 6 months before that ppl said itll take 100 years.


As you can see, there is plenty of proof that things are happening faster and faster. Still on schedule.
