Shoomfie's Adventure (Version: 0.1b w/hotfix)



Version 0.1b RELEASED!!!

What's better than Parkour, mobgrinding, puzzles or cool story-lines? How about all of them put into one incredible, awesome map!!! just when you thought you'd seen it all, Shoomfie's Adventure will bring a whole new meaning to adventure maps. This level based map will be challenging and immersing.

Features Include:



  • Multiple levels increasing in difficulty.
  • NEW LEVEL SELECT SYSTEM!!! (with command blocks!)
  • Extremely detailed levels, with lots of those "little details"
  • Storyline and ruleset in the form of a "Journal" (no peaking ahead now. :D)
  • Puzzles
  • Parkour
  • Mob fighting
  • Easter Eggs (but you didn't hear that from me) ;)
  • Enderchest save-point system.
  • command block integration!


Levels:


LEVEL 1: "Temple of the Dead"

This level is based around an Aztec/forbidden temple feel. Complete with a lot of basic death-traps, and a couple of hidden secrets. The idea itself is simple enough: get from point 'A' to point 'B' without dying. But you know... the word "dead" is in the title.

LEVEL 2: "So that's how they built it"
Ever wonder how those people built the pyramids? And another reference to the Notches enchantment table text reference. This will "probably be a smaller level, as I use it to experiment with the 1.4 goodies. ^_^
LEVEL 3: "Down To Earth
After *redacted*, you will find yourself in a more "RPG"-esque Swampland, as you help the village find their missing *redacted*. After it's placed back in/on it's case/stand, A new secret will be discovered in the *redacted*.
LEVEL 4: TBA
LEVEL 5: "yeah... you get the idea" (TBA)

To do list:

  • create story line to go with the Adventure
  • create a "level-select" system via Command Blocks
  • finish level 1: "Temple of the Dead" (95% done!)
  • write full description
  • make video (I got my software to work, I'll video level one when I have time!)
  • RELEASE LEVEL 1!!! (Coming end of April!) RELEASED!



Known bugs:
  • Level 1 is currently very CPU intensive at times.

This is due to: Mob Spawning rooms and Lot's of arrows in various places

  • The end of Level 1 is bugged and does not work properly! (working with blackbullet17 to fix in next release)

Quick update. Now that 1.3 is out, I plan to pick this up again, eventually. I've got some ideas, that are even bigger and better than the originals. Level 1 is nearly complete, and I've got Level 2 in my head. I plan on adding a few great new features soon, Like Enderchests and tripwires!
