Introduction
So this is one of the most complex maps i've created so far, well, I'm still building on it.
I got my Inspiration to build this city after my vacation in Amsterdam, as i fell in love with it's 17th-century architecture.
The venice-styled canals for ware distribution; the pre- and post-reformation churches; and of course the stretched out, squeezed houses. But St. Marteen isn't supposed to be a replica of Amsterdam, it's rather a fictional setting which could have existed in the Dutch Golden Age, which also takes inspirations from Utrecht, Delft, The Hague etc.
Later in development i decided to set the city in the late 17th/early 18th-century, to extend my architectural possibilities.

Progress
Although I'm pretty satisfied with what I already built, I know there is still a lot of work to do. The core city around the "Strand Kerk" and the general canal grid is fully developed, but there are many sites which are not as nearly as finished. Eventually there are still sites which I haven't even started yet and are only in my mind. But I'm looking forward to getting tips, suggestion and inspiration from you guys for the further development of St. Marteen! And maybe there's someone around who's keen in helping me with that project? As you can see I'm not really familiar with shaders and other game improvements as I used Minecraft solely for private entertainment until now, so please forgive me ;)

Credits
As in every Period styled map, i used the Vanillicus resource pack from the Romecraft Community!
