I hooked this up to some command blocks and a fireplace and made them teleporters based on floo powder from Harry Potter, where you name gunpowder, which is the floo powder, of the location you want to go then toss it in the payment system and then walk in the fire and you get teleported.

i just noticed you can have kind of a lottery type deal if you put multiple items in the dispensers and find a way to move the stack once you are finished with the payment

The problem I always have with downloaded worldsaves is not the problem you have, but it's similar. Most of the worldsaves are within two layers of folders by the same name, and after I extract it from the zip and put it in my worldsaves folder, I often forget to take the inner folder out of the outer folder in order for minecraft to recognize it as a worldsave.

The only problem I see is you have to periodically reload the dispensers... Now, you should try making an extension of this with the allocator mod that automatically puts the item that the user dropped in back in the right dispenser. Definitely deserves a diamond.

Does anyone know whether a item joining a stack would reset the despawn time or would each item despawn after there own five minutes?

However you have come up with a nice design of how to detect which item it is, because at fist when I saw ACTennisAC video I did not see many uses for it. But it should be nice if it would run faster, especially when using even more different items. And the display could easily only show the correct block by using a long signal detector.
