No lights shine in Tartaros. Even on the eve of the Silver Age, when the last Heroes imprisoned the last of the Gigantes under a sky of daggers in the black pit, Tartaros was just a cold abyss of jagged stone spires. No gold was found here. Iron and coal were plentiful, but no gold, no silver, no jewels. A city was built by the Heroes, who swore to forever guard the last Gigantes. The pit became covered in lights, and the city was joyous, and soldiers and adventurers were plentiful, for a little while. In just a few years, the lights extinguished, and the portal closed, and Tartaros turned into just a myth.

By chance, magi of the surface reignited the link, and rediscovered the black pit. A first expedition was called to explore the city, surprisingly intact, and to search for any of the mythic o godso toolso that the Heroes once wielded.

The first expedition went and didno t return.

And so, the trumpets sound for a second band of soldiers and adventurers to enter the pit of Hell.

1/30/2012: 3rd place is great. I expected Circlelight to take first, anyway.

Regarding the status of interiors and the map: I've been busy lately, and I had been bored of the project for a while, so I don't have a definite timeline on when I will finish the map. But I will be continuing to work on it, though not in any timely fashion.

Completely solo project. I built this to be an adventure map, but I didno t invest enough time to finish interiors and to add mob spawners and loot (IRL and Starcraft took me away). I plan to continue working on interiors and will eventually update, almost certainly when the contest is over.



Lighting? Nope. No open glowstone or torches (redstone torches dono t count). Moody lighting, no fog, nighttimeo the only way to play. Five torches should be all youo ll need, if played wisely ¯_(ã )_/¯
