With the goal of imposing dominance comes politics in order to keep the peace and the trade flowing. With such a goal in mind the Mad King Reed demanded a embassy be built in his name, in the name of his city, so that "Elected Representative" and their "willing servants" could ensure the prosperity of The Frozen City of the North.

This castle was created by WJ0 as part of the First Dawn Project. This build, along with several others going live tonight are part of a mini competition we held in-house, amongst our team to see who could create the most effective and elegant castle. This castle is actually designed to be more of a palace and a peaceful embassy for his city, and as a result the block palette is largely the same as that of The Frozen City.

Please let us know your favourite castle below in the comments, or with diamonds, but be careful the pirates may reappear to claim those diamonds as their booty. As a side unrelated note, the First Dawn Project will be going into closed beta next week if anyone is interested, send us a DM.

It's definitely the largest and the one with the most castle-like feel, since it has farms, many places to live, many gatehouses throughout and actually seems defendable and sustainable if it were a real castle.
I do however think the design itself- The walls, the shapes, and so on- are really straightforward and underwhelming in comparison. A realistic thing for sure, but not exactly aesthetic, in a sense. I think it may have the least detail of the four.
With that in mind... it absolutely captures the feel of a castle but doesn't quite achieve everything a Minecraft castle can. It's on one end for the one half and one end for the other- I'm not sure where to rank this, exactly, in my perspective, but I think it may be my most favourite even with the negatives proposed.
Regardless, all things considered, noting how well it captures the feel of a castle itself I like it quite a bit. Nice job, WJ0. :)

It's not the biggest of the four? I see. I have to admit it's hard to tell the size of your own one with certainty since it doesn't have a clear aerial shot to determine it; it simply looks smaller on the whole. Perhaps I was mistaken to think otherwise, in that case. Sorry.

It's one of those builds that's really conflicting. Designed as if it's a palace at the front but with a fortification at the rear. It is a healthy mix of pleasure and practicality.

Yeah. :) The mix present is a pretty healthy mix of pleasure and practicality. It can be conflicting in a way when trying to rank it against other builds though but when by itself it stands just fine. ^~^ Plus, even the part which is designed as if it's a palace has battlements, so it could certainly take a good shot at holding its own if it were real and had good defenders in charge.
