SUMMARY
Somewhere, in the great stretches of forest within the lands of Minecraft, lies Winterscape, a vast wilderness that spans countless miles. And it has a reputation for attracting both the brave and foolhardy alike, in the hunt for vast riches. But as Winterscape's residents are well aware, newcomers often do not last long. And whether they are slain by overwhelmingly strong monsters, or simply succumb to starvation, makes little difference to the region's undertakers.
However, should anyone manage to overcome Winterscape's harsh wilderness and all of its challenges...
Perhaps they will be amongst the lucky individuals, who find fame and glory.
INTRODUCTION
Hello!
My name is RogersTheSheriff and I am the creator behind Winterscape, a massive, open-world, RPG-style adventure map that encapsulates a heavy focus on lore. Moreover, I am creating this map in the same style as old-fashion adventure maps; a time when Minecraft game mechanics were simpler, and reliant upon a narrative story. That said, the map itself has been designed to accommodate an expansive world full of towns, dungeons, puzzles, and many quest lines for up to four players. From end to end, the total area hovers around 60,000,000 (60 Million) Blocks, and takes approximately 2 hours to traverse from end-to-end.
Needless to say, this project is going to be quite the ambitious one. And I very much doubt its completion would be reached anytime soon. I am only a simple builder, but I am confident that once this map is completed, it can become the adventure of a lifetime.
A development roadmap will be released sometime shortly, along with a discord server to monitor the project's progress.
Thank you! o7

Development Roadmap & Progress Thus Far : by RogersTheSheriff 04/16/2022 1:07:12 pmApr 16th, 2022
Hello everyone!
It's been an exciting last few days as progress on Winterscape has been ramping up. As you may have noted from the main post, I promised a Development Roadmap. And without further adieu, here it is!
*Items marked with "Xs" indicate completion*
DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP
-Finish Creating The World in WorldPainter: X
-Determine Locations of Every Major Town: X
-Finish Construction of Every Major Town: WIP
-Determine Locations of Small Towns and/or Encampments: TBD
-Finish Construction of Small Towns and/or Encampments: TBD
-Determine Locations of Dungeons and/or Quest Areas: TBD
-Finish Construction of Dungeons and/or Quest Areas: TBD
-Begin Writing Lore and Creating a Trade Economy: TBD
-Begin Engineering Redstone Circuits for Playability: TBD
-Active Beta Testing: TBD
-Publishing and Release of Final Map File to PMC: TBD
PROGRESS MADE SO FAR
With the Starting Town finished, and Stutgart nearing Completion, there are roughly five to seven large towns left to build. And at this point in time, some very primitive and preliminary Redstone testing has been done, to see if they will be adequate enough in size for the buildings being laid down. As I go along, I intend to publish more pictures of the towns (Stutgart's have been updated to the image gallery) as they are constructed, and hope to keep the building progress steady.
