Introduction
What is it like to celebrate the Year of the Rooster? This year we took a step forward into making some of the best moments of food in Chinese New Year using MineCraft.

LinsCraft perceives culture not only as in the forms of architectures but also in the forms of food. The Chinese long ago understands the importance of food and elaborately designed a series of cuisine that spread across the world, influencing the shaping of other countries food history and cultures.

So...Are you a foodie?



Cultural Importance and Significance
Just to give you guys a background of this project, we are making this for the celebration of our Chinese New Year. It is the year of the Rooster so you may see a few decorative paper cut art related to that in the project. Furthermore, at the centre of the project stands the evil monster ‘Nian’, which in Chinese also means the word ‘Year’. This centre piece represented an ideology of passing the ‘Nian’ (Year) and into a New Year.
Behind the ‘Nian’ is a Lion Dance Costume that has the word “Celebrate the Year of the Golden Rooster” written on it. The food are self explanitory. The guy with coins surround him is a ‘Money God’. We often have him at New Year because we want him to bring luck and fortune to the family. The white birds (Red-Crowned Crane) are the Auspicious Crane often depicted in Chinese art. They represent, again, good luck.
