About the Server
Greetings friends,
I have started AREA24 with a simple goal in mind: to preserve the vanilla-feel of minecraft gameplay. However, I thought there were features that would complement this gameplay. Thus, I introduced Citizens and Traders to the main safe-zoned town at the server. PVP has also been enhanced and features such as logout prevention during combat,PVP leaderboards and head trophies have been implemented. To enhance PVE, I have introduced physical money drops from mobs, making exploring a profitable venture in itself. The money could then by used to buy from vendors or purchase a player house in town where one's things would be safe. The 'hardcore' part of the server stems from the fact that the survival difficulty has been ramped up to HARD and player upon death drops all their belongings and account money, allowing the killer (if it was a player) to collect everything! Thus, Stock Traders have been implemented to allow the player to deposit money in a form of a game item(emeralds) which can then be stored into a safe-guarded player chest and resold at stock for cash. If you are a fan of Factions, this would also be a good server for you since outside of safe zones of spawn PVP is ongoing and being in a faction can mean the difference between life and death. Be prepared to grief and be griefed if you build outside the safe-zoned city! But maybe you're tired of PVP and want to relax and just build. Well then there is an option of playing on a creative world and building to your heart's content. PlotMe plugin will protect your creative plot allowing you to come back to it at anytime. What about server protection? Worldguard deals with land protection at the server, preventing creeper and tnt block damage but NOT player damage within 1000 blocks of spawn. CoreProtect is used to undo any grief and check for xrayers if they should arise and NoCheat prevents general types of cheating behaviour. Right now the server is in development and only 20 spaces are open for beta testing, but do not worry, upon public release everything will be ramped up and ready for players.Right now we are looking for BETA TESTERS. These individuals play at the server, enjoy the game and provide feedback in terms of bugs or ideas. In the future, I will select from this pool of individuals to fill mod and admin positions. Plus, Beta Testers get a house in town free of charge! So what are you waiting for! Come and play, create and enjoy with us!!!
