The Hosting Server just went through its first major modem upgrade.

New feature: /text 

'This is a BIG one. 
This lets people actually text or email you from inside Ken's Server.  It works with almost every carrier - american, european, japanese, chinese, Or you can have it sent to your email.

Also added about 115 more emotions.  The IRC is a big hit too.

Also added Character Cards - Profiles, customized for Ken's Server.  You can add your facebook, google plus, youtube and skype accounts - closest thing to a profile page.  Oh and if you taek a photo of yourself usingj /photo paper - you can have a full profile. Hmm.. i think I see a combo plugin in the works.

Use /myskype to add your skype name to your /cc  /myyoutube for your youtube - etc.

Ken's Server has an IRC Server open:

Point your IRC (internet relay chat) clients to either one - and you can chat with our players even if your'e not on the server.  Great for keeping in touch witn old friends.  Also, we'll happily link up with other servers who have our players playing on it and have IRC.

We've been suffering with a horrible lag problem for the past few days and I think I finally narrowed it down.

I updated several plugins:

multiverse-*
Essentials-*
Plotme
along with several others.

This wouldn't normally be important enough for an Update but tracking down thie source of the lag was tricky and I was going down the wrong path - assuming it was either 

a) memory issues
b) internet glitches
c) server problems
d) glitchy world (bigplot is 8 Gigs alone!)

It was none of these things

It was a simple case of Java problems caused by a plugin or two that was causing looping and therefore, superlag.

So, can't wait to see you come back :D  and deercam2.3322.org is working again btw - as well as ken.ignorelist.com -- both leads to the same great place :D

Added Books Without Borders /bwb  Save your books.  We will be building an extensive public library.  And you will never lose your books again.

Also, you can use either ken.ignorelist.com or deercam2.3322.org  - both will work but put both in your minecraft server list in case one or the other is having troubles.

Servers running great.  Modrider is updated, DisguiseCraft is updated.

Lots of new features.including KennyBot which you will either love or hate.  Type PSY or meow in the chat for a little surprise.

A new plotland4 /warp p4  is open because plotlands2 and 3 are nearly filled up - over 10,000 plots so far!  omg... and the factions in wild are at war right now.  Still no raiding or griefing but, the pvp is... something else.

/warp 12.14  for a memorial for the children killed in the school shootings in connecticut on December 14, 2012.  There have been a lot of updates to the server since my last one and I will collect them all for a big update soon.  (we're up to 800+ warps!, 3500 regular plots, 1000 bigplots... more plugins -- but i'll get into that later) - but right now, two of my users had family that died in the school shooting.  And this deserves to be mentioned as an update: A list of all the victims names are at that warp (that is all that I added) and nine or so users spontaneously got together and built a memorial there.  I know its not a huge update - but this is important enough to mention.

I changed the video in tribute to Amanda Todd.  One of my admins was broken after ifnding out about amanda todd and so i suggested he build a memorial.  And he did.  It brought a tear to my eye to see the creation he made.

This comment includes 1 question, 1 complaint, and 1 request. Hopefully you read all of them and consider the complain and request.


Ok, the question is: What is the server's texture pack? I really like it, and want to get it so I can use it on any server. Please reply, I want it! :)


Ok, now for the complaint: I have a problem about the admins you pick. Honestly, in my opinion, you don't do a very good job on picking admins, no offense. But everyday, I see people saying "Stop abusing, <name>!!" or "Can someone make <name> stop abusing his/her commands on me?!". This shows a pretty obvious problem about who to pick and choose to be a staff or not. Everyday, I see people teleporting other people around, or abusing/spamming broadcast, or just killing people in creative. Seriously, you have too much admins, and out of all those admins, 43% are abusers. I obviously have a problem with this. Here's a trick question: Think about how the server was 7 months ago, when I first joined. Got it? Ok, now compare it to how the server is today. Back then, the server was all peaceful, no abusers, spammers, beggars, or raging assholes. But now, the community of the server has become total chaos for me, other admins, the non-staff, the new players, and most of all, you. We went from a good, calm community to a ghetto-type server. You really need to lower the amount of admins on the server, and have someone who is on almost every day be a server monitor, to manage with all the spamming, abusing, hacking, and begging. By a server monitor, I mean someone who has access to admin-like essential commands, such as /kick and /tempban. And the monitor should also have /pex, so they can deal with the abusing admins and demote them if they cause too much trouble. That should be a rank for a person who's been on the server at least since 2012, and is on every day.


Ok, now for the request: Can you look at my epic dome home (/warp iSwiftX), and post a comment about it doing /plotme comment <insert comment here> ? :)


I do hope you consider all of these messages, reply, and hopefully make some changes in the server.

I will definitely consider all of these messages, iSwiftx. You put a lot of thought into it, and your dedication to the server is phenomonal.  You're like a son to me - naughty, always making me fall out of my chair laughing with some of the crazy things you say - and yet, you ultimately are a really good person deep down and I truly <3 you. 

Skylord_Lemondew is taking care of the admin issue bit by bit.  It's my fault really - I was always too quick to promote - I like everybody and I believe in giving people many chances to prove themselves because I believe that everybody is capable of good things.

Some admins get away from me though and go their own way or the power gets to their heads.

I can take care of some things - you can /text simplify3 yourmessage - mostly for when Sky's away - but ultimately, all decisions - all of them, are his.  It's his server now.  You'll see some name changes and things happening soon.

He didn't get it because he's my son, although that helps of course.  He earned every last drop of it through is blood, sweat and tears, so to speak.  Lots and lots of hard hard hard work. I could say more but there's not enough room here.

And I'll see if I can sneak on and check out your epic dome home Maybe you can send me a screenshot to [email protected] or MMS it to me at 2394659291 or get me in Kik or Skype as simplify3 - I'm all over the place and there's a zillion ways to send me pics.  I'll post them to my G+ and maybe even here to Planet MC.

I' starting to collect them and I'll be making collages and things of the amazing work done here.  And you'll get get full credit.

In fact I'm looking for a server photographer.

If you ever see someone who is saying "I'm bored" a lot - give them the task of being Server Photographer and have them send screenshots to me. That'll help a *lot* because I simply don't have as much time to get on and do it myself.

Man, after what you said, it just made me feel honored.


Of course, I'll ask people to take photo's of parts of the server when they just spam "Yo, I'm bored! I want everyone to know even though it's not important!". I find it pretty annoying when people just spam this message over and over to be an attention whore.


Compliment, I like how your a friend to everyone, don't ignore all the non-staff, haters, abusers, and spammers, and how you treat everyone equally. It's amazing that you can't hate anyone, for it's impossible for me to do that (Trust me.).


Notice, I sent you some server mail, which is a request, and hope you look into it and take some time to consider the decision of the request. Reply with a yes or a no, but if you say no, I'll understand, for you have a lot of things to take care of and don't have time to see how the players act in they're every-day server lives. But if you do say yes, I'll just be happy. That's all. Not go insane or jump for joy so much I have bruises on my head, but just appreciate that the wish came true. I've been wanting you to say yes to it since 1 day after I joined the server.


Once again, I hope you consider the request, and hope for the best on your server.

ok dude... that is it. The first time my admin was taken away, it was done through mistake. But this time... its personal, I am fed up of taking the blame for when people hack me or i assume hack.... you see... this all boils down to your son, sky. Yet again, he removed my admin rank without my consent or knowledge for this time... "spamming broadcast" . To put it fairly... this is utter crap, see i was in call on skype with my mate building so i didnt talk much... the odd sentace, congrats and stuff. All was fine until aload of broadcast spamming text appeared saying somting like "get a life skylord_lemondew--l1lph1l29-"
I would like to declare that this was not me and i am now fed up of your son taking action... with no trial or even asking me why or even if i had done it (of which i have not)... against me. I usually give servers between 3-5 chances against me.... if its my fault then fine but if not... im hell-bent on fighting till i am proved right.. i hope that, yet again i can reclaim my rank for what i was accused of, but i am not alone... zach8351 was also de-adminised (if its a word) AND HE WASNT EVEN TALKING..... so we agree that sky has to be restricted... leave the ranking to you - ken,and you alone... sky just jumps the gun and arrives at conclusions of which he feels right when they are not

so... i hope this all can be sorted out, and for sky... i am sorry if you took any offence to that message, but i asure you.. it wasnt me who said that, i would never say somthing as crule as that to someone who had done nothing to deserve it.

so ken... the choice is yours... i know you depend on him alot for the server... but this goes back to my last complaint.. Entire control of us... and not alot for us...

Hey, Great server. I'm making a minigame called mazzze. I don't know what it stands for (an admin named it, I came up with the idea and built several prototypes) but its pretty much a maze with mobs inside. You have to get the key so you can leave. You first fight through hordes of mobs in tunnels. Then fight many mobs in the cave. Then one you've got the key in the cave, run to the exit. You have to find it though. If you read this and can make sure mobs spawn (I'm using a plot right now) that would be really appreciated. Thanks for your time. P.S. my IGN is Eggbeforechicken and I helped build the partyhall.

Dear Ken,
I am sorry in advance. I have done nothing but try to improve the server and help everyone. I have been on for around 5 months. During that time I learned many things. But, I am afraid that you handing your son the responsibilities for the entire server was not the right choice to make. The admins have very little power at all (/mute /tp /tphere is around all we get). Once again I am sorry. But I'm leaving the server until things change.

this is too, now my thoughts ... i have allegedly been spamming the console with time changes of which i am unfamiliar with and thus, i have been stripped of my rank and i feel my identity too amongst the community. i would hope that this issues can be resolved quickly as your son sky refuses to acknowledge my existence and will not accept my apology for something which i have not indeed done.

i brought all my friends i knew of.. some were indeed quite well known through-out the mc community and they themselves brought on players.... i have devoted my time to helping your server by being helpful,kind,polite and what i thought needed i even spent 10 hours on the server spawn just for you as you yourself was to busy to set one up yourself... and as it turns out this is quite the opposite.. all i ask in return is my simple admin rank back.. nothing more.. i just hope this makes you realise too that admins do not have that greater power of the server.

i will be unfortunately be leaving the server if this matter can not be resolved as i feel neglected and with out even trying to work out what indeed has happened removed all i have worked for. i also 100% agree with unicorn_mayhem.. im 16 and i wouldn't feel fine with controlling one of the best and biggest servers. i just feel he needs to also be restricted with his powers too and leave the ranking to you ken.

Uni and miner,

I'm so very sorry about the current situation. 

I <3 both of you and want to help as best I can. 

Uni: What powers do you need to better administrate on the server?   I don't usually get much feedback from people until they are really upset - and the fact that you came outside of the game to talk to me shows how important this is to you.

Miner - I will get you your admin back.  You should never have lost it.  And you ahve been working very very hard on a spawn - and I am truly sorry that you feel neglected - I never intended this to be this way.

Sky usually makes the right decisions - and I trust his judgements - BUT - if he is stepping out of line, being unfair and unjust, I will see what I can do.

I do depend on him quite a bit - perhaps too much so, but I couldnt' do it without him.  However - what I can do is this for you guys:

1l1: I will restore your rank. Proto.  You see, from our perspective, Admins often DO get "trolly' sometimes - drunk with power - and it's often people that you would least expect to do so.  So when he said that you were day/night spamming - it was nothing personal to you - I didn't question it, because it's like a virus - everybody gets affected by power from time to time.  I've rage-shutdown the server a few times myself. I'm human. We're all human.

So Please - tell me what I need to do to restore your faith in Ken's Server and your trust and have you feel like valuable administrators of the server. 

I will do waht I can to help make it happen.

Thank you for replying Ken. First off I think that there should be WAY less admins. There should only be at most 10 admins Admins should have /kick, /stoplag, àand other essential commands. If there is a way, admins should have the power to kick people from IRC. You should add the rank of moderator. Around 20 - 15 of moderators would suffice and they should get the commands of the Admins except /stoplag and /kick. And then the special admin rank should be demoted to another rank. (Trusted maybe) And the new rank should have /tp (no /tphere or /mute). As with Sky. Whenever I have a question for him (for example: Why can't the spawn I made be the spawn.) He tends to answer with Because... or he evades my question entirely. Also I have a problem with the colored nicks. If someone is spamming and he has a nick &kdhajdfa then it would be impossible for me to figure out who it is. I think colored nick should only be provided by moderators and admins, the trusteds can only give themselves nicks. only ranks like 75 and up should get nicks. Thank you.

Thanks for the idea - I tried a survival games plugin a few months back but it kinda took over the server and turned it into a survival games server.  Creative + some survival might not be for everybody but so far it seems to work.

What I find happens a lot is my players will take some pointers and then will start up their own server with the things they like - and then they get popular. So if nothing else, if i can help others be successful as Ken's Server is, then I'm happy :)

But yeah - some more games plugins might not be a bad idea - if it can be setup where people can "opt-in" and not everybody is disrupted who doesn't want to play.

By the way - I'm really proud of you for starting up a server.  It's a lot of work, especialy if you 'go public' like i did - but it's SO worthwhile.  I hope Ken's Server has helped you come up with ideas - good things, bad things, stuff like that.  "Oh that's a great idea!" and "Oh, no, my server shouldn't have any of that!" - If it helped you at all in any way, then I am very proud. :D  And please - if there's anything I can learn from you about the goods and the bads - teach me :)  and maybe there's a way to link our servers together - i know there used to be aplugin for that...
